that's what mine sounds like, but i'm just gonna wait till somthing does out before i replace anything.
and i know its stupid but when i shut the car off it sounds like a high tec thing powering down and i kinda like it.lol
the only reason belt dressing would make it worse is if the pulley was slipping slightly in the first place and the dressing worsened the slipping. and here's a trick that i don't condone but does work. take the pulley out, use a needle grease injector and try to get it between the seal where...
hey, today checked a whole bunch of stuff at the shop in my college(DMACC) and here's what i found.
ECT sensor is fine, .65 volts at 195.
TPS is perfect
MAF volatage is perfect
and did all the tests with a scan tool cyl balance test, system check, timing check, ect...that the computer will...
whoa ok i'm bringing this back from the dead. i was gone for awhile so now i can look at it.
this time around on gas mileage i got like 17mpg with 70 miles of that being all highway. now if i had bad o2's would that make the gas mileage that bad really? and i replaced my thermostat and gauge...
hey i was wondering what you guys get for gas mileage, i'm gettin about 20 mpg highway and in town mixed. wondering if that sucked pretty bad for a SHO or not. so lets hear it what do you guys get?
mine is in the exact same position as you describe, i'd like to know to. i've already done the shimming to all my valves. so i have no clue. and isn't a tensioner more of a chattering not a ticking.
as long as they are greaseable i'd say they are alright. and if you want to put off an alignment for a little bit, just count the number of turns it take to take the outer off then turn the new one on that many turns. i believe you can do the same thing with innner.
i second the strut bearings, i'm not sure if they are like probes or not, but they have plastic bearing retainers that crack and cause that problem, if it get's bad enough they catch and clunk when you turn.
i'd also like to know how to adjust the linkage, my second gear you have to pull back with some force to get past the syncro, is there any way to adjust this, common problem?
hey i just did mine about two days ago along with shimming my valves, new acces belts and tightening the timing belt and new plugs. and it's not too bad except the rear valve cover, that thing was kinda ***** to do for me. and here's and little somthing to help seal it better, when you push...
yeah my PS pump makes noise too, makes it sound futuristic or somthing when i shut it down. but here's a trick for you for the PS pump, get it flushed professionally, then here's the trick. take some WYNNES friction modfier( the one in the tube) and put about a quarter to half a tube in there...
everything produces an electrical charge, **** if you have a fine enough voltometer you yourself produce a slight charge. electricity is really an important thing to understand. if you work on cars and don't have a grasp on it you can only do so much.
yeah sorry i meant the timing belt, duh stupid me. and here's another i idea i got while reshimming my valves. i noticed that there is a hydraulic tensioner on the camshaft chains, if that tensioner bleeds excesive pressure that could maybe cause what your hearing too.
