    Moisture in headlight housing

Can't tell from the picture, but moisture, as in fogging that clears when the headlamp is on is considered normal by most manufacturers. Standing water is not. If, and when it's time to mess with it, if you have a local dealer, see if they stock the bumper cover to fender retainers. It takes...

    Down Again

I'm hit or miss on the forum and probably missed some of your posts, but when you say oil pressure gauge, are you referring to an add on, or a diagnostic gauge like the one pictured. I wouldn't trust anything but a mechanical test gauge. Also, if you want to, PM me your Vin and I can run an...

Coming from an automotive background, do any of these products help with fretting? Unless vehicles have fairly severe oil leaks it's fairly uncommon that I see issues with oil, conversely I have seen a fair amount of terminal fretting issues through the years. Additionally, what's your take...

    Down Again

Vacuum fill/bleed is the only way to go on a coolant system. Best choice is one you run off a compressor, but I'd imagine with enough determination a Mighty Vac style hand vacuum pump would do. Once you Vacuum fill a coolant system you never look back. It's one and done.

    Down Again

How bad was it damaged and where in the accident? Unless you've mechanically gauged the coolant temp and oil pressure I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around those issues. I can't help but think if this all started after the accident that there may be a ground or connector issue skewing...

    Could anyone please help diagnose.

What does your cluster show for how many mpg your getting?

Progress on my car so far...

It's a time consuming job at home, but not horrible. I couldn't get a good read on your pictures, but the internal aluminum parts seemed to still look like clean aluminum with Mobil 1. I use Royal Purple exclusively for the life of mine and when I did the water pump, the parts had a slight...

Technical Discussion of Methanol Injection (formerly GH Tuning and 100% meth injection don’t mix - Courtesy of 802SHO)

@mattr66usa, this could really be a good thread for a lot of us if we stick to tuning aspects/theories. I've strictly repaired new cars for the last 40 years, a huge number of repairs/ recall fixes are strictly reflash oriented theses days coming all the way back from the EE rock and lock proms...

Setting the Record Straight and 802 SHO Has a Problem with Me

From a Tech perspective I kind of follow, from the repair side of the world I have to say I know very little about the tuning side. In my world, unmetered air (vacuum leaks) throw p0171 lean codes and transversely, things like purge valves stuck open while the vent valve is in the open position...

Setting the Record Straight and 802 SHO Has a Problem with Me

I hate to see this turn into Mike vs Livernois 2.0. Over the last few years since, I thought the attraction with Gearhead and a small handful of others was to have a street beast that doesn't destroy the engine? Full disclosure, I've been running AO tune for around 6 years, 70k mi on my daily...

I think it's important to remember the age of the vehicle and the number of times connectors have been unplugged and reconnected. Junkink the fuse box considering you had to essentially wire around it is a good move and if you had relays that sounded like they were pulse width modulated, I don't...

Replacing brake master cylinder without replacing vacuum booster?

Research brake booster push rod adjustment. Considering the mix and match, it could be a bit off with the 13 master cylinder and older booster. Just throwing it out there.

How to identify the source of a misfire

@SHOdded , the condition you're referring to should show oil around the outside of the plug and coil pack boot correct? Another simple and cheap test provided you have a path to #2 injector is an inexpensive automotive stethoscope. Engine running at idle, touching the wand to the injector you...
