The good news is that the heavy/gritty clutch pedal that lingered after the clutch change was probably due to the badly frayed clutch cable I pulled out. I'm going to the junkyard tomorrow to get a replacement.

The bad news is I forgot to drain/flush the tranny after Tom polished it up. When I drained the fluid it was whitish-pink and opaque. This probably caused the difficult shifting . Hopefully the drive from dooleyville didn't ruin the synchros.

Thanks again Nick for all the work you put into my car.

Thanks again Tom for letting us make a mess of dooleyville and for cleaning/polishing all my parts.

If you can't find one in a junk yard, come out and search the Dooleyville yard; and then you can drain the tranny fluid out and put in some fresh. That pinkish color is from a little moisture that I probably got in there while cleaning off the gunk.

hey tom, was wondering if you had a couple parts i'm looking for out there in dooleyville/wanted to rent out some shop space for a valve cover gasket and spark plug tube swap or possibly a 60k. it'd be nice to do it with someone around to bug about anything that comes up and a knowlege of these cars versus my usually drunk or high buddies house with a lack of someone to bug about such knowlege but an abundance of people to throw wrenches/hammers/insults at.

Come to our next planned get together and meet some of the guys. I'm sure someone will help you out. Only veteran AZ SHO Club members are allowed to use my shop and only when I am there. They've earned the right and respect it.

Would be glad to help out...provided the meet is on a day when its not 2 billion degrees outside.

Tom: do we still have those shims from michigan or are those in Colorado?

well, as long as the next planned get together is any time this week or next, or the 6-11th after 4pm the 14th-19th after 4pm or after the 4th of october i'm game.

gotta be in school with the union the 6th thru the 19th and then the 27th thru the 3rd of october i'll be in school in las vegas for the union, and again in vegas the 20th thru the 24th of october.

i fully understand about the lifts and tools. I don't blame you one bit. i made the mistake of attending UTI for nine months and saw just how most people my age around here treat other peoples tools/equipment/parts/cars, i wasn't brought up that way, guess its an AZ thing to trash peoples things without appology.

but i seriously doubt i'll be able to make it whenever this next planned get together is. so i'll probably just call gruelichs and make an appointment for next week.

After visiting 5 junkyards and finding no MTX SHOs, I pulled the cable from the 90 put it in the 93 and the clutch pedal feels great now. Also, fresh ATF cured the transmission. I can finally drive my silver car again!

Too much... I didn't have luck with the Autozone-Luk replacement, so I wanted an OEM. Luckily Tom had one to replace the one I stole from my black car.
