If I don't have anything with school that weekend, I wouldn't mind dropping by being that I'm 20 minutes north at Duke, that is, if you guys and gals don't mind a SLO Owner joining you all... (I at least have the Duratec :) )

SHO meet in Sept

just a short posting to keep the thread up to date. should send out a general email also to local SHO people, as not everyone is a forum nut like me.

Will post maps to my place, phone #, etc as we get closer to the meet weekend day (Sept 6th).

:woohoo:

If anyone needs any MTX tranny parts, this would be the time to ask. The garage is strewn with them as I work on the quaife rebuild. slow going, but making progress. got the diff shimmed in the other day. main issue now is getting the gears and synchronizers to shift smoothly without the snychro dogs falling out. have a good 1/2, but still some problems with the 3/4. may need to swap it out. 5/rev also a little sticky. I don't think I will be happy until all 3 synchro's shift smoothly.

I am almost to the point where I don't need the manual to assemble/re-asssemble this thing. just hope the final product is good.

best regards to all. I am hoping we can get a good turnout this year. If we get critical mass, then a group event at a local track is possible -- either Orange County Speedway or (if we can swing it) VIR. The latter is awesome, was up there a few weeks ago during the COBRA event. Don't know if we have the #'s to justify that, maybe join some other ford event would be more practical. VIR would be great for national SHO event.

Bring the Gen III. We need to represent here. I can't have the only one.

Perhaps Doug will have mine done by then too. And we can all drool over the blown V-8! But if not, I'll bring "Blackie" back to the meet. Or perhaps my newest toy, even though it's not a SHO.......****

SHO meet

****, would love see the setup for the supercharged V8, I'm guessing that Doug is using a variation of his shaft-driven setup for that.

After I finish playing with the tranny's and fix the rear suspension on the ATX, its got to be on-to-boost for me. Need advice on what to try first. SC looks the simplest, though I worry that mpg will suffer alot. But hey, if you can't take the heat .... get out of the kitchen.

So I think the two "old" SHOs plus the new 91 will continue to be my toys for a while.

Hey John,
Yeah, Doug sent me pics last month of the blower and plenum. He was looking at getting some pipe next and get the plumbing done up. It'll kinda resemble what Eric Lehman has done, just a bit different. All of Dougs are CNCed, billet aluminum, etc. All of Eric's was hand crafted and solely done by his own hands. Very gifted individual. Really got the smarts upstairs and is able to put it to use in his vehicles. I've talked to him several times about it, and he is awaiting the return of mine too. As for "Blackie" I just slapped in Jose's SHOrt throw shifter and some Q-form speakers and it is looking sweet! And the shifting is phenomenal! (sp) :) ****

hmm... sounds like maybe you have given in to the temptation to move to a rear wheel drive as well?? since we're doing hints... mine is 2700lbs full weight and the drive wheels are were they are supposed to be.

Sounds like you have an awesome weight advantage already over me. And the drive wheels are just like yours. :thumb: I must say I would have no problem towing you to the track if need be. That may have just gave it away....

After further reading your post again John, I didn't respond to your first sentence. Doug isn't using a shaft drive on the V-8 blower set up. The M90 will be at home on the back of the rear valve cover and the pulley will be in line with the rest of the drive belts. I have two or three now, other blower set ups that I have had for many years. Those are all jack shaft driven exactly like Carter's in Arkansas. Doug wanted to go a different route and use a roots tyle as opposed to a centrifugal blower. So I now have a other blower options if I get any more Gen 3s. :) ****

hmm... SXT??

Real close. Change one of the letters in there and you are the grand prize weinner! Which I think you may have accidently just hit the wrong letter anyways. The SXT is a Dodge term, and as most folks know I'm not a fan of Dodge at all.

AAAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH! Another Dodge term! lol. Nah, wrong again. It is definitely a Ford, for now at least. I'll leave it at that. I'll never have or own a Dodge/Mopar vehicle so that'll take care of that guessing game. It's your turn to toss some hints our way on what you have up your sleeve, or in your garage I mean.

O.K. I guess SVT (that's a Ford designation), possibly a Lightening? HP/TQ numbers seem right.

should have guessed that. was thinking truck terms.

so... hints for my new car. 2700lbs, rear wheel drive, and likes to drive sideways. was fetured in a movie set in tokyo.
