Going once, going twice . . ....

Well folks, due to lack of interest, there will be no group buy. We were short by 2 buyers, so maybe another time, in another place, in another age....

For now, I'll just have to live with the 17x8's

Me too. I can't give up these Cobra brakes.

I agree- im looking to upgrade my rims, and brakes. I am working on my brakes at the moment. I would LOVE a wider tire, i was just looking into it. And the Price on them shipped is Awesome. But- we need larger tires. See if we can get the same deal on 17 or something :). And more time~

call me back in 7 months and I just well may buy a set of 5. :nut: stupid auto-x addiction. All depends on if I get posted somewhere close to auto-x events.

I know that... but hopefully with the revival of this thread, the interested parties might still be interested, and then the thin strand I'm grasping onto might get a little bit thicker and stronger. :naughty:

Anyone up for 17x10's w/ 295 tires?? 12mm offset, cut off the rear fenders . . . tires will stick out by about 2" . . .. boy I get goosebumps just thinking about it..:biggrin::biggrin:

(Might have to sell a SHO just to afford it though.)

I am using a 35 mm offset, 7.5" wide 16" wheel and with "wide for their size" 225/55-16 tires, I have needed to trim approximately 8-12 mm from the top and top front portions of the out fender lip on my '91. With the 16"x8" wheels, the 1/2" extra width and 2 mm less outward offset will place the outboard edge of the rim about 0.17" farther outward than my wheels. I suspect without going to the 245 mm section width tire that enough fender can be trimmed to maintain clearance from the tire. The 225 mm section width tires on my 7.5" wide wheels have looked wider than many "wider" tires I have seen mounted on SHOs. With 8" wheels, 225 mm section width tires would look even better and have better sidewall support.

I'm looking for a set of 7+" wide 16" track wheels.
