Wassup people! I have diagnosed similiar problems with my 94 ATX using the forum here and wanted to thank you guys. 
I had noticed that there was a decrease in mpg and a hesitation that continued to get worse. I ran the codes and got some miscellaneous one's, but importantly got 176 & 177. I thought based on my research here that it could be either an intake leak or the MAF. I checked for intake leaks because I just finished doing my upper 60K last week; that wasn't the problem. So based on process of elimination I changed the O2's.
That was definately the problem because my performance and mpg drastically increased. Thanx guys.
By the way a guy around here in Silver Spring has a chipped 94 MTX. He just couldn't hold with me. I know the MTX's are faster but from a dig I had him up till 60 and then I kept that lead AND gained 1/2 a length up to 100mph.

guess im going to have to save up, itll prolly increase my gas mileage and pay for itself anyway.
