Quick question.
I dented the **** out of my crossmember, how bad is that?
Something I should be worrying about, or something I just need to get fixed eventually?

Front crossmember or rear crossmember?

I couldn't tell you too much... I would say, try to have them pulled out somehow... if that fails, weld a bar of aluminum to the ends and in the middle somewhere... that should stiffen it enough.

The crossmember is steel so that wouldn't work. How bad is the bend? Is the engine hitting the hood? Is your alignment off? Unfortunately we can't tell you much without seeing the damage...

Well here, I couldn't take a good picture, so I took a little video so you could see more than just a picture.

I think it's the cross member, I messed up something metal running down the middle too (probably the exhaust)... Ruptured the gas tank (Hey at least I knew it was a gas tank, I'm not completely helpless lol)

The video

The engine still sits level from what I can tell, It needed an alignment before hand anyways (it pulled to the right)
Sorry, I sound like a douche..

Hmmm..The front cross member really took a whack. I'd check the ends of it where its joined to the siderails of the subframe to see if there is damage there. If it pulled the rails inward, you may have permanent alignment issues. A body shop may be able to hammer or pull that member back into shape. You may want to consider getting another subframe.

I'm a little concerned about your oil pan though. That shiny spot in the video seems to indicate that it had been whacked too. I'd check the pan for cracks and leaks.

The silver thing over the exhaust pipe is heat shielding. I'd try to put that back in place (I think that you were pointing out that it was damaged). I think it's held in place with push pins. An exhaust shop might be able to help you with that. If you can't fix it, you would probably be ok with removing it.

That gas tank is a major problem. It looks like you need a new tank before you try to drive it anywhere. What did you hit?

A turn lane median :p
Talk about a thud.

Ouch! An ex girlfriend of mine ran one of those over at 70 mph. I've never seen a tire sidewall balloon like hers did. Your car looks pretty nice; I hope you can fix it for a reasonable cost..

I haven't shopped gas tanks in a long time but I think they are about $150ish? You might want to check www.rockauto.com for pricing.

You might be able to ratchet that subframe back into shape with a come-along but I'm not sure how you'd rig it up to pull the cross member down.

Yeah, I ordered a tank from advanced auto parts for $105.50.. Not to bad. Even the tow was reasonable at $75 flat rate.

Yeah, I hit that median at about 30ish. I'm lucky it only did that much damage. I got the car like 3 weeks ago.. 170k miles and before this, the only thing really wrong was the back door handles are messed up (one missing). Got it for $1800.

Update!
Well I threw the new gas tank in, and finally saw all the damage. On top of the tank and the crossmember, I ripped the heat shield, glad it wasn't my exhaust.

Still runs fine, nothing is wrong with the steering... Lucky hit eh?

LoL.. my front subframe is a little bent from someone jacking the car up there or maybe someone hit it, I really don't know. I didn't do it, was there when I bought it, mine isn't quite as bad, but I haven't had any problems aligning the subframe, or anything. Your oil pan looks kind of exposed tho now. If I was you I'd just be careful and keep an eye out for another subframe.
