Spent most of last week on the Salt Flats attempting to get some good runs in, but most of the time was trying to work the bugs out of the new engine.
First run: 122.*** mph, missing and bucking the whole way, wouldn't pull in 4th, back in the pits we found two (2) plugs fouled car didn't sound right even after new plugs, still sounded better.
Second run: Turned out after the first mile marker, car wouldn't get any rpm's at all past 2100 to 2200 . Back in the pits we pulled the upper end apart checking cams, timing, compression 180 lbs in all cylinders, (new engine with no break in time) everything looked good, in all we pulled the engine apart three times, finally found the cam position senser had oil in it, bad cam seal, cleaned it all up put it back together again, still wouldn't run right than my tack went south we finally changed the DIS module, car really lit up and sounded great.
Third run: First video: 147.*** mph pulled hard 1st,2nd, most of 3rd, lost power in 4th and 5th had an old tune in the tweecer, went back to the pits put in a new tune fron Lance Chaney and SHO_SC.
Forth run: Second video: 142.*** mph car pulled hard 1st thru 3rd than lost power and missing like the 3rd run: They closed the track after the 4th run.
It was hot out there and a lot of work but it was also a lot of fun, Seanmc came out for awhile and tolded me he'll make a post about his trip and the salt. I'm really happy with this motor it has a lot of potential just have to get it worked out. You can see by the salt in the wheel wells that the surface is loose and sticky, also in the videos you can hear the car even after the car is out of sight.
