Okay I want to make the rear of the 89' look alittle better and I was thinking about getting a plus spoiler and having it installed. I don't really want to imitate a Plus so I had the idea to put a small M style trunk lid lip spoiler on it to make it look better and semi functional.

Does anybody know the trunk lid width on the Gen1's and do you think this will look good? Its a simple double sided tape install and they look really good on almost any car. It should help break up all the roundness on the back of the Gen1.:thumb:

Boy that's the 1st time I've ever heard that one!

As for the lip shown, I think it'll sweep back a little depending on where it's placed. I think you'll be looking more for something that wraps the corner more, with vertical & horizontal trunk-fitting.

Whoops! I forgot about that post from waay back. I'm still going to pick one up when i find one that is almost 56" wide. Maybe the 5 series from the late 90's has a trunk lid that wide. I'll find out.

I would look pretty good IMO. My buddy just put one on his A4 and I think it looks great. I also would love to do something with my 91' but I don't want to drill holes for a plus spoiler in my rust free trunk lid.

Why not make your own? For the core, you can use interior corner molding trim - yes the stuff from home depot.. then you can wrap it in fiberglass and paint it body color.
