My preference is to at least wrap those pipes since u didnt ceramic coat them, they throw a lot of heat, and close to the PTU.I actually put the order in today too through PPE directly and should have them in a week or so. Ordered the catless and uncoated ones.
I put in my order with PPE for the catless downpipes minus the ceramic coating option. I will use header wrap and wrap them myself instead. They were actually just finishing up a batch of the headers and had 1 set remaining that hadn't been sold, so I purchased the last set. Should ship out next week sometime. I'll leave the rest of the exhaust stock. I also believe I have been able to line up a tuner that can code out the rear o2 sensor monitoring as well.My preference is to at least wrap those pipes since u didnt ceramic coat them, they throw a lot of heat, and close to the PTU.
I hope wrapping works out better for you than me. It takes a lot of wear and tear. I used DEI wrap and the silicone sealing spray with their metal zip ties. They self clearanced the underbody plastic shield and then the bottom side as deteriorated quickly within the last year. I will probably either have to redo them or get them coated.I put in my order with PPE for the catless downpipes minus the ceramic coating option. I will use header wrap and wrap them myself instead. And the reason I did both as well. The added protection is needed.I hope wrapping works out better for you than me. It takes a lot of wear and tear. I run stock cats andAnyone upgraded the exhaust without regrets as far as money spent or the sound not being great? I was thinking of maybe doing just the downpipes but leave the rest of the exhaust stock, but I'm not sure if it's even worth it for the price tag. Also regarding the downpipes - has anyone been able to run the catless downpipes and able to tune out the CEL or run o2 simulators to keep it away? Thanks!
just changed the mufflers to Black Widow 250’s and it sounds amazing with no droneAnyone upgraded the exhaust without regrets as far as money spent or the sound not being great? I have catless PPE dp on my 13, and catted PPE dp on a 19. I picked up 4-5 tenths in 1/4 dragy runs with dp alone. No difference between catted or catless. Paul at PPE just did a full exhaust for me on the 13, mufflered xpipe, and Magnaflows. It sounds fantastic!!!! He is going to start selling the full exhaust. Doing the exact same setup on the 19 after Christmas.
I run Stainless Works catless down pipes on my 2016, I got them ceramic coated and then did the DEI heat wrap over the coating. Definitely use lots of those metal ties along the low parts of the downpipes to keep the exhaust wrap intact... It is definitely going to hit the ground.
I used mini cat defoulers from Amazon and have been running them for a few months with no CEL.
Except you are lowered...Since this is on a Flex I'd imagine I won't have ground clearance issues with the downpipes.
Except you are lowered...
They hang just a bit lower than stock. I had them melt the shield so I run without it.Yes, but I don't have any issues catching the underbody shield. Can you not run the underbody shield with the PPE downpipes?

I am going to replace my Flowmaster FX and replacing with that magnaflow xpipe to hopefully reduce the drone.I have catless PPE dp on my 13, and catted PPE dp on a 19. I don't catch the shield no, and I am lowered. However in a different post you mentioned already having to be aware how you drive to not damage stuff underneath. Any aftermarket downpipes are a bit lower than factoryYes, but I don't have any issues catching the underbody shield. Can you not run the underbody shield with the PPE downpipes?
