2019 SHO's first photo shoot:

First road-trip from Los Angeles to Palm Springs in my new (used) 2019 Ford Taurus SHO PP. Couldn't find my 400mm, so I took these with a Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8G VR on a D3s full-frame body. So, not the greatest compression and not as shallow a depth-of-field as I would've liked.

First two shots were taken in a 7-11 parking lot near Ontario Airport so the background isn't the best. All images framed in-camera as shown (i.e., no cropping). Edit performed in macOS' Preview, applying only manual color-correction and sharpening (i.e., no Photoshop filters).

"Taurus" debadge:

I did a "Taurus" badge-delete today. Previously, I had a body shop paint my Ford emblems translucent-black on my Ford Freestar and they came out looking really good. Would like to do the same here.

Next I'm going to apply the Tamiya translucent model paint I bought to the Ford emblems and maybe even the rear spear:

Phase I of 3M chrome-trim delete:

A bit divided on how to do this (only did one window so far). The 3M vehicle-trim tape works well and lasts a few years but is a b*tch to remove once it deteriorates (i.e., bits of tape eventually break off).

As far as I know, the most robust chrome-delete is achieved by pulling all the trim from the vehicle and have it powder-coated (quoted $800 at one body shop). Or, I could mask and spray-paint with a high-quality enamel, perhaps with a layer of adhesion-promoter applied first.

Nice pics man. That thing would look killer with ‘60’s California black plates. The flowers look really good all black too.

Thanks for the kind words. I am transferring my press plates from my Marauder which also look super-cool. Most cops don't even know what kind of plates they are!

1) I miss my 300A Marauder number 1985.
2) I hadn't seen this plate so I looked it up; definitely a unique plate most people will never see.

Just found these two photos I took of my 2014 Ford Focus Electric when it was brand-new. I later installed an ST-spoiler, splashguards, and painted the rear-bumper matte-black. Almost also bought a Focus RS in Nitrous Blue, brand-new for only $36K.

Yeah, I loved my 2003 300B Marauder. The California press plates are pretty cool. As I mentioned, I was pulled over multiple times by LAPD just to ask what kind of plates they were. Not that they ever did me any good—I was pulled over twice with weapons drawn. My matte-black Marauder was a real cop-magnet.

Thanks! Well, I just got back from Hawaii and rented my usual . . . a Mustang GT. I was going to buy a Mustang Dark Horse, but I found out I'm too late and orders are already closed. Since buying the SHO, I found out that Cali no longer requires smog checks every other year—it's now once every eight years for new cars!

The stock five-point-oh has a lot of "whoomph," the factory exhaust-note is to die for, and the 10-speed auto-trans is nice and zippy, so I may be pretty happy with just the GT. I think I can add the magnetic-suspension to the GT as an option (since I can't get a Dark Horse). Been wanting a GT forever, but never bought one for whatever reason.
