No worries, I appreciate it. Everything looks good alignment-wise. Did it go together pretty easy, or did you have to mess with it a bunch to get it to line up? Also, did you utilize the rear-most hanger?Sorry for the delay, I haven't been home. Here are a few pictures.View attachment 82821View attachment 82822View attachment 82823View attachment 82824View attachment 82825
I had a muffler shop put them in. I bought the mufflers, painted them, bought the tips, and took everything down to the shop. They welded in the mufflers and put on the tips using the clamps the tips had built in. I just told them kinda how far I wanted the tips to stick out and they lined it all up. And yes they used the rear-most hangers, they welded hangers onto the mufflers that lined up with the one on the car.No worries, I appreciate it. Everything looks good alignment-wise. I can't weld for ***** either, I showed my local Meineke a pic of his setup and they modified my MRT axle back for under 200 bucks. With how much I already waisted on MRT I figured what's another couple hundred bucks, but the sound of rumble inside and outside was worth it to me. When all upgrades are done I'll post videos on the exhaust note.I have seen the hemholtz design in a couple threads. I like the results but I'm trying to keep this mod within my capabilities, and I can't weld, lol.
Came across a fourth option that I'm leaning towards, Flowmaster FlowFX mufflers. They're a straight-through muffler with packing that Flowmaster classifies as "moderate" sound in and out. I heard a clip of it on a 3.5 TT Raptor and I liked it. My hope is that the packing takes care of some/all of the drone . . .
My hope was the glasspacks would help with drone.... they don’t. Helmholtz resonator I believe is the only solution to **** the drone without mufflers or actual resonator. You will have drone with a muffler delete. I have downpipes and rear muffler delete, and will be adding two 31” glass pack resonators in place of the third cat and third muffler to help with the drone. The car is pretty loud, and mid range tones are pretty garbage.

Yes I did it awhile back. Not a drone but a nice deep rumble inside the cab. Everyone that's heard it startup, were impressed and the clueless thought it is a V8. And at cruise speed you don't really hear the exhaust at all. Without those Helmholtz resonators the drone was unbearable. And with addition of my PPE downpipes, little more turbo noise but no increase in decibels. Mrt is a rip off but with proper mods, it gives a very nice deep rumble.Did you get this done yet? How's the drone?
Which resonators did you use or did they just fab up a J pipe? Do you have anything else after the DP's?Yes I did it awhile back. Not a drone but a nice deep rumble inside the cab. Forgot to mention in DM what I did was take those pics to my local meineke and they made them just from the pics, cost was couple hundred bucks.Which resonators did you use or did they just fab up a J pipe? Do you have anything else after the DP's?
I'm looking to tone down the drone as well, I have catted downpipes to the magnaflow resonator/muffler and then the MRT, and didn't realize it was going to drone so bad. I'm trying to figure out how to get it to not drone so bad without restricting the air flow. It sounds great outside of the car or when you really get on it but between 1800-2200 RPM inside of the car it is absolutely awful.
Cool, I figured a J pipe or similar was going to be the answer but like I said I wanted to get it right the second or maybe even third time, thanks!Forgot to mention in DM what I did was take those pics to my local meineke and they made them just from the pics, cost was couple hundred bucks.
I have since added a Magnaflow resonator. I did do a third cat delete, but since added it back, had rasp I didn't like, and even though third cat is stock, all piping is 2.5 except third cat. Tried to do a clip of a cold start and warm start but sounded like crap on my phone. Going to borrow a high priced phone and post it's sweet music. So like what ended up being the solution? Also i see Helmholtz resonator where do i buy it? Im dum ingore this question
Do you also have your stock resonator in the mix?I have since added a Magnaflow resonator. Replaced it with the Magnaflow, third cat was modded in a way if I want I could remove on my own and replace with 2.5 pipe and clamps. Shops anymore don't like messing with emissions, so they were nice and worked with me. If I decide to remove it again. If I had purchased non catted PPE DPs they wouldn't even have installed them. From front is PPE catted DPs, pipes on third cat are moved up to 2.5, Magnaflow resonator, MRT axle-back with Helmholtz resonators. Alot of money spent on exhaust, but heck everything for this platform is alot of money spent .Do you also have your stock resonator in the mix?
