Considering adding a small shot (15ish) of nitrous ahead of the IC for the purpose of lowering IATs (considered this with my ProCharged Mustang but never got around to doing it) and have a couple questions. One, is it worth the investment, I've heard that nitrous is the best cooling agent ****-for-the-buck but just wondering if anyone has done this? Two, going with a very small shot that far ahead of the TB, could I possibly get away with not having to adjust the tune? When researching this setup for my Mustang I was thinking that a very small shot combined with enough distance before the TB would allow the nitrous to disperse enough that it could serve primarily as a cooler agent and lesser so as additional fuel. Anyone have any experience with this setup? Thanks.

Well whatever you inject in remember it comes out in the engine bay from the **** off valves. Nitrous is fine and shouldnt cause a fire from bov but meth has a good chance of making fire

Didn't think of that, I do have the BOVs vented to atmosphere . . .

Well for starters, nitrous is nitrous no matter where you spray it and requires additional fuel. That being said, 15 hp is nothing and your fuel trims will take care of it no problem.

Spraying before the intercooler really makes no sense. Your intercooler's capacity is directly proportional to the temperature difference between the inlet charge air and ambient air, so spraying ahead of it effectively reduces the size of your intercooler. Let your intercooler do work, then inject whatever cooling mechanism you wish afterwards.

15 shot won't be noticeable in IAT's but youll get a little bit from the nitrous obviously. 15 becomes 25, 25 becomes 35, then 35 becomes 50. It's downhill from there on usage. lol

I wouldn't run it before the IC. You want to cool the intake charge to the intake not the IC. Since you're just looking to use it for an IAT drop, inject at the IC outlet.

That does make more sense to inject after the IC as it will have done it's job, thus in theory making the nitrous more effective, obviously depending on the difference between air charge temp and ambient temp as stripSHO stated. Anyone with ideas on how big of a shot could be used before an adjustment in the tune is needed? Thanks.
