I will get the test data and be thorough about it this time around unlike with the last Wilwood kit that was sold. You speak of shops with a better value, any particular ones that you feel can be more competitive with pricing? I'm all ears and am trying to bring cost down as well if it's at possible on small batch runs.

Well dammit.... Now we all have to return our epp products because they didn't do a full study and show different vendor cost comparisons. Son.of. A.

And same thing for h&rs, the alky meth kits, and gosh even that phenolic spacer.....

That Alky kit....ugh....don't get me started...pretty much every kit on the market is either a knock-off of theirs or simply been rebranded through some sort of marketing deal with Alky...I gotta give em credit for that at least.

But it's all ancient methanol technology...not a fan.

I know.... Lol the point is that it's not on their website and they don't show data or comparison prices.

We are getting down in the weeds

I just have a 20 gallon water tank in my trunk with a garden hose threaded to the intake. Just fill it with windshield washer fluid and let'er buck!

My cousin has a machine shop. Do you think your material is critical or can even the material take a step back? **** who knows maybe you over engineered them. All they need to do is give caliper clearance and not fall off. Bolt type would be more of a concern I think...but I don’t know

I've been amazed how simple and lame it is. Only a few companies actually innovate with methanol.

I'm gonna throw out a guess and say that he may have chosen a specific material to guaranteed he doesn't get sued for someone dying due to a faulty (weak) part.

Well I’d like to put it out there that I’ll happily take the next step down and slam on my brakes without a seat belt at 130 and laugh as I don’t die

Correct, the reason why I chose that material is as you stated GotGrip. I am legally responsible for the public's/customers safety in regards to this performance braking solution. Morally and ethically as an engineer and a professional I could not cut corners by trying to shave a few bucks by using cheap sub par material. Also what most don't realize is that due to the nature of these products, I did have to start a small business and LLC to be able to cover the insurance required for these performance solutions. This overhead, cost/time, is something that customers don't necessarily think about when they look at the sale price, but is there and I have to account for that.

Sounds good. Tell me more. Who scared you so much about your bracket failing? You know if the car catches fire and your bracket is the only thing left fully intact in the ashes...maybe there’s a sliver of credibility that you over engineered it...which is a very presumptuous statement...how could an engineer over engineer something...that never happens. The bracket you made really is a work of art...curves for days and rounded corners? Certainly something to show off...or maybe it’s too nice...maybe those extra details require more machining time/tools. Perhaps the original is entitled to the person who created it...but for selling purposes and overhead costs maybe it’ll be cheaper to square it up ..curves and corners. I think you need a salesman selling it for you..engineer it...but maybe leave selling to someone else. There’s a huge reason you have been sitting on these for 6+ months and I don’t believe it’s ultimately related to Wilwood performance. Wilwood...just same the name and better braking comes to mind. Did you forget you’re offering a bracket. You didn’t develop the calipers. All this fuss would be relevant if we were discussing S.E.P. Calipers...no we’re actually only talking about a single set of brackets here. The idea that the brakes will be so hot as to not affect the brake caliper paint...but distort and crack your brackets....like damn who scared the bejesus out of you with potential lawsuits over the idea that your bracket could fail and make the calipers...well let’s not forget they are still getting clamping force from the brake lines...the idea that what...the caliper and pads would fall off...the rotor that’s bolted to the hub by means of the wheel...how much tension do you think is on that bracket? I bet there’s a lot less than I would even guess. Maybe it’s beyond you to consider looking at your development again to revise it...but as time goes on and dust settles maybe you should have thought of this ...yesterday.

I think you can be successful at this Aaron...but this way. From one business owner to another...I truly hope you make it. And if you do go a different route with your brackets let me know. Shaving 20lbs off sounds really good right now.

Do you understand how brakes work... The caliper clamps but what keeps it from rotating with the rotor?
Instead of being negative, just open MS Paint and design a set.
Make them from whatever is cheap and try em out....then sell em for 170 or whatever is cheap.
Let's see how easy it is.

I’m sorry I feel like this is really an IQ test with laughable yet extremely sad results. What do you think a bracket does? It holds something in place. Holy shit

Lol if I make a bracket Aaron is done for...I think Aaron deserves a second shot before I create something simply from the challenge....bc it wouldn’t be the first time.
