My previous best in the SHO was 151 mph. That was before E30 tune. E30 tune now netted me 160 mph, which by the way is the speed limiter on GH tunes. I was going to try the 1.5 mile to see how much more I could get but the car literally fell on it's face maybe 50 feet past the mile marker. I notified GH and they will fix that for me. They found it comical because seems nobody ever asked for a higher limit. lol
Pretty impressive for a big brick of a car. GPS said 162 and LTA timing equipment 160.

Very interesting indeed. I ran gearhead e30 but felt very unsafe in the SHO over 140mph, of course this was in Mexico on the highway.

Yea the steering feels way too loose on a non pp sho over 140mph. My little Miata feels like its going to do a Mercedes Le Mans backflip over 140mph.

Wasn't even the steering on mine. Was the very bad aerodynamics and very bad weight balancing combined with poor suspension for high speeds. **** I wasn't even steering and im not sure if I would attempt it at those speeds unless I had my life insurance designated and my browser history cleared.

I did 160 in an ‘05 GTO in mexico and that didn’t feel that planted either. That’s more of a wedge than a brick and I could definitely feel they engineers did not intend for that car to go those speeds.

Kinda weird but I was always told that if the speedo went to 120 or 140 or **** even 85 that it dosnt mean it goes that fast but alot of the vehicle parts can handle those speeds. From what I can remember of my friends 06 gto I think the gage went to 200mph. Maybe they did that just so people buy it when they see what the speedo goes up to haha

The one I drove was my father in laws, mid life crisis and such, and he definitely bought it because “the speedo says it’ll do two hunnerd!!” Haha

I reached max velocity of 157 mph (GPS verified) with just my E30 tune and H&R's and it was super smooth.

Being FBO now with more power and some different areo...hopefully I can reach the 170 mph mark.

Better swap to run flats and a helmet.
Id make sure its either a track or 911 assist is on as well. This is one of those times better to be safe than to leave kids without a dad.

Can we get a mods list/any other changes from factory?

It would be interesting to see a flex do this since it has better aero lol

I won't go that fast (not that I havent) without a full cage and a nascar safety setup. Probably wouldn't add too much weight since the car will need to be fully stripped inside.

There is a 1320 video i seen not too long ago that had a mustang hit a pole within a couple hundred yards of starting and it split the car right in half. I've been scared ever since. Fer real

Yeah a lot of that speed of nonsense is just marketing. Mind you a few years ago I had an Isuzu impulse RS Turbo. Speedo went up to 140 on it. I got it to 135 on the speedo and backed off. Damn this thing was still pulling at that speed.
The GTO speedo ended at 120, but .... Let's just say that wasn't enough. LOL

I had an 84 s10 modded of course but the speedo said 85. I twisted it off on the first pull.

Honestly, the car can be driven with one hand at that speed, if there isn't any crosswind. I have a video of the 151 run and I am tapping on the steering wheel to the beat of some good tunes. This time, there was a crosswind so I had to hands on the wheel. Very stable. My car is a PP car so not sure it makes that much of a difference.
Mod list are: K&N drop in,
Thunderstorm catted down pipes
SP-542 plugs (.28)
3 bar map sensor
MSD coils
Thunderstorm HPFP
GH/IC
GH E30 tune
Yokohama Y rated tires.

I now have the pp steering tune on my non pp. It feels better at highway speeds but I haven't been insanely fast with it yet and not sure if I will unless it's on base or at a track.

So the whole PP thing....i feel like it somehow should be printed as a disclaimer from a class action lawsuit.
Images

Ya get hot glued underwear steering wheel, different brake pads, and lots of cooling items and a slower overall gearset.... nothing for increasing performance. More designed for lots of idling or towing or.....FLEET USE...the components were designed primarily with cop car idling and city driving in mind. The performance packages on a mustang are what you should be jealous of. Ford didn't trick them with words.

Its the same rack....you get different feedback...try wearing gloves, ill sell ya a worn pair that look like used underwear. I guarantee it will change how it feels when you grip them.
