Hi.

Will installing the H&R lowering springs, or opting for full coilovers, interfere with the active Suspension on the '13+ MKS?

Huh.

Now I suppose I must consider whether I ever want to buy the coilovers, or not.

I suppose I could buy them, install them for autocross/hoon events/moments/urges, and take them off later.

However, a further question: it mentions in Luigisho's post that the system uses the shocks to perform it's function - why would the H&Rs interfere with that?

they interfere because they would have different characteristics than stock therfore the computer system would act to correct the perceived imbalance. might be able to adjust parameters in Forscan but i have no clue where in the code to look for that

Hrm.

That makes sense ... I guess I need to investigate Forscan. I have no experience with this stuff yet, but hey, I'm forty. Time for mid-life crisis school. Haha.

Thanks for the answers.

I was thinking more of coilovers than the H&R springs. My best guess on the springs, as I don't know the actual difference in resting and compression height, is I guess it depends on how much drop you get and how that affects range of compression of the oem shocks. I haven't heard of people programming around spring swaps specifically.

There are a few lowered 13+ MKS’s out there on H&Rs and I don’t recall them having any issues. I’m pretty sure you’ll be just fine. There’s a guy on the other forum I believe and I’ll link it when I find it.

The link from @luigisho is for an MKZ and I do not believe the MKS ever had pothole detection and whatnot. It’s a pretty simple design IIRC.
