Hello all, and Happy New Year!

So....after losing boost completely due to both spinny things crapping out it's time to do some fairly major repairs. since the turbos died the LOW OIL PRESSURE idiot light comes on anytime RPM'S are <1200. Also, heat not blowing when RPM'S are <1200. I suspect the LOP is due to oil leakage thru the CHRA's of the turbos, but could be issues on front of block. Car has 168K. CAr not currently being driven until it's date with my mechanic on 1/14. I've elected to have following done. Timing chains/gears/VVT actuators, oil and water pump LOP switch all to be R&R in addition to the turbos. Total labor cost $1400. I've seen some talk on the forum about replacing the turbo oil FEED tubes. Is it recommended that just the supply tubes be replaces, or should the return lines also be? What about the water lines? The reason I ask is that those lines are pricey, and I don't want to R&R any that I don't strictly need to.

SHOded has been kind enough to look into this, but I'm also putting this out to the membership in hopes that someone might have the info directly on hand. I need the P/N's for both turbo oil supply lines (and the return lines if it's necessary to R&R them). I've already ordered the timing chain kit, oil and water pumps, front crankshaft seal, washer and bolt. Waiting on ordering turbos until I get correct P/N's for the oil lines (my manuals won't work on new computer so I'm relegated to asking on here).

I considered upgrading the turbos, but after talking to our friends at LMS I've decided to keep OEM turbos. The logic here is with as many miles as are on the engine there is some element of risk of running the engine too hard and blowing components in the rotating assy. Down the road I may wind up installing a new engine, but don't want to make that kind of investment at this point. Hopefully all this makes sense, I'm recovering from arm surgery and happily buzzed on pain meds as I write this LOL. Any advice and thoughts appreciated.

I wish you all peace and prosperity in the New Year, and appreciate all your advice as always!

Personally I would upgrade the turbos. The bigger turbos should be more efficient with less boost. Just my opinion. If you go and put a new motor in it down the road...the turbos are already there.

As always, you're a great help Manu! I need to know which of the pipes are SUPPLY lines. I believe the LOWER pipes are the supply lines, can anyone confirm or deny? Thanks!

The return line is LOWER, supply line is UPPER, I believe, per the illustrations and instructions in the attached pic. The return line uses O-ring seals to the oil pan, and that is commensurate with the parts list. As far as i can tell, LOL.

TSB that specifically lists the supply lines' core numbers

Any tips on how to change out the oil return tube at the oil pan? Seems like it should just pull out right?
