Just moving over from the Gen 3 site. I purchased a 2011 PP last week. Makes it my 5th SHO owned. Past SHO's include 89, 91 plus, 97 and 98. The new 2011 is a dream to drive and amazing power. But, the 1989 was the most fun.
I wanted to thank everyone for the great research and comments posted on these cars, it really helped in my buying decision. Now I will just need to find homes for the 97 and 98.
Thanks again to all.

I agree about the 89. I got to drive a slightly used one in maybe 1990 or 91 when I just barely had a learners permit. I scared the crap out of my mom who I talked into test driving the car in the first place. Lol. I tried to talk my totally pragmatic father into buying one through all my teenage years, but it never happened. It only took me 27 years to get one. My 2016 is a better, faster car in every sense but I would still **** to have that manual 89 with the half cloth seats and that sweet Yamaha.
