So I recently just picked up a 2011 Taurus SHO and it has just above 170k miles on it. I know that these were all highway miles and it was not driven hard at all because I knew the owner well. The owner kept up with regular maintenance schedules and kept good care of it.

I am wondering how long it would be before I will be having turbo or transmission issues, or if these will be the first things to have issues in the first place. Also, how many more miles I will get out of the car if I keep up with maintenance and take car of it..?

Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well the trans is sealed and requires oil changes every 60 to 80 k. the transfer case requires fresh gear **** every 20 to 30 k. the rear diff should be changed every 40 to 60 k depends on the abuse. the turbos are sealed and all depends how hot and hard they have ran. I had a 13 with all livernois upgrades and had 78k before i sold it. all was well and never had any issues. its all in your regement of care.

It seems the turbos on these things fail whenever they feel like it, so who knows. I wouldnt worry about the trans. I say, change all the fluids and run it. By the time you hit another fluid internal (not engine oil) it'l have over 200k, then go from there.

20k interval on the PTU seems pretty excessive....

The PTU is sealed on pre 2013 models. It's "lifetime" filled. There have been people who have replaced it, however.

Not quite sealed, it just does not have a drain plug. It has a fill plug and a vent, common to all PTUs in the "family".

I’ve got 178,700 on my 2010, mostly highway. Had since new. Torque converter went out at 169,000 but that’s been it! Regular maintenance and tires.
