Hi, all -

2011 SHO non-PP here. 118,000 miles. Minnesota car.

Got new brake pads and rotors from O'Reilly this weekend. Bosch rotors, O'Reilly brand ceramic pads. Put them on, no issues - fit great, look good, stop the car, no shudder or pull. I'm a little concerned with how little of the new rotor and how close to the outside of the new rotor the pads are hitting.

The pics are, in order: old rotor on car, new rotor just mounted, new rotor after about 30 miles.

This is the third set this car has had... so perhaps the ones on before were wrong? It had fresh pads and rotors when I got the car at 69,000 miles. Just crossed 118,000 and did a replacement myself.

Thoughts appreciated.

Well without seeing the old pads and rotors off the car it's hard to tell. Or maybe you ran her hard like the rest of us do lol? But those look ok to me. As long as they're the right ones, work well and your satisfied.

The pads may be different due to aftermarket design. Looks ok. If your worried, buy oem.

Which pads did you buy, can you post pics? The PP and non-PP pads have different shapes. For example, this EBC offering, comparative pic from glock-coma

Top is non pp
Bottom is pp

They’re on the car and I don’t really want to take the wheel off again. :) but I did take the old pads to O’Reilly and compared and they looked similar without measuring... I think I’m just being overly cautious. I’m off to starting issues now.

Thx for posting those pic SHOdded.
I was running the PP pads for the longest time (on a non PP SHO)
but was getting sick of looking at the bottom area that wasn’t contacted by the pad.
I ended up going back to the non PP pads.

The pads you currently have installed are the PP pads.
The only difference is the swept area.

So is it an issue beyond the fact it looks different than the previous ones, or am I good and just should leave well enough alone?

No issue at all. I ran the PP pads for 25k miles. You’ll just see the bottom 1/4 of the rotor start to rust.
