2010 sho vs 2001 ss camaro

What is the car for, daily driver, weekend toy, do you have another car? For a daily I would take the SHO for a weekend toy I would seriously be considering the SS as there is a lot out there for the LS motors and suspension for F bodies.

Love that sunset orange metallic on the SS. I think that's a pretty rare and sought after color.

This is coming from a life long Ford man, totally in love with his SHO. If it was me, given that both cars are relatively high mileage, I would go with the SS for one reason. The Camaro is way easier an cheaper to work on. There are a ton more parts available for the Camaro, the average Joe can do more of the work himself, and if you do have to pay someone its still going to be cheaper.
- Today I had a service appointment at the Ford dealership for an inspection, oil change and I had a left over code in the computer that I wanted to have cleared, the stealership wanted $119.00 just to clear the code and they where snotty about it. I walked out, additionally its a confirmed fact to change the water pump on the SHO is around $2200, and my guess is at that mileage the possibility of needing one. is going to be sooner then later.

I agree with this idea of it depends on what you want in a car. Honestly, I think the SS and SHO aren't even comparable and completely different cars.
The SS is a 2 door muscle car, it's RWD, and it's cheap to make power and torque. The interior is going to look like plastic shit, it's going to rattle, and the ride isn't going to be that great. The SHO is more of a "luxury" 4 door quick sedan, it's AWD, and after a tune it gets expensive to make real power. The interior is 100x nicer than the SS, it's a lot more quite, and it's going to ride WAY better.
If you live in an area with snow and bad weather and this is your only vehicle then the SS may not be the best choice simply based on what you need from a car. If it's a weekend toy car then the SS may be the best choice.
If it was my car based on what I would be looking for from a vehicle I would choose the SS. But for me it would be a fair weather extra car that gets stored in the winter.

Two completely different cars, too many unknowns to give you a proper answer. Is there service history available on either? How will you use the car? What exactly are the mods on the SS?
