Very clean 1999 Taurus SHO V8 in rare Tropic Green Metallic with WELDED CAMS! No warning lights! Starts right up, purrs like a kitten! Just freshly detailed for you to pick up and cruise off into the sunset.

A note on the color: this specific SHO is #162 of 353 SHOs built in this color and #22 of only 89(!!!) built with medium prairie tan interior combination.

It’s very rare to see a SHO in this color combo, it represents less than 1% of total gen 3 production and was only available in 1999. It’s a beautiful, deep metallic that really pops when the sun hits it right. I’ve never seen another one in person, ever. It's like the classic Jaguar green color on their performance models.

The SHO is a West Coast car I purchased from another SHO enthusiast in SoCal. Recently, I was relocated for my job from Orange County, CA to Tampa Bay, FL and the car is now in Tampa as of August 2016. It was transported cross country in an enclosed auto trailer with my 2015 Lexus RC….What this means for you: a no rust, straight body, never in an accident SHO. This is 1 of 3 cars I have, just recently purchased a 2017 Ford Fusion Sport TT to add to the fleet and previously had a Mustang GT/CS and last generation Fusion Sport. Point is, this car was always kept in the garage and rarely even driven in the rain while owned by me.

The car is not perfect, but looks darn GREAT. The SHO looks fabulous (like OMG is that a 99 SHO in mint condition?! Just check out the reflection of those clouds in the hood!) from about 5 feet away, but up close, it has the expected touch ups, niks, wear, small scratches and pits that you’d expect from a car that was built in December 1998 and driven ever since. Same with the interior.

REASONS YOU SHOULD BY THIS SHO vs. SOME OTHER RANDOM SHO ONLINE:
  • The cams were welded by the great mechanic and famed SHO enthusiast John Stoessel. This SHO runs STRONG. John of course installed fresh plugs, rotated the coils, etc. while under the knife.
  • Passed California emissions each year with flying colors, with last emissions test 4/2015
  • The transmission was replaced to the tune of $3600 (!!!) 6/2014 and rebuilt again 12/2015 due to some slippage that was happening. Don’t risk buying any SHO without a transmission rebuild. You WILL have to rebuild it eventually and it’s not cheap. A transmission cooler has been installed to keep you running safe and cool. This alone is worth the price of the car.
  • New battery and alternator 4/2014, with a new battery installed again 12/2015 after sitting for 2 months while I was out of the country for work ($460)
  • 4 new Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires 9/2014 (8k miles ago, to the tune of $600)
  • Full brake fluid, power steering and coolant flush 4/2014 and again 10/2015
  • Replaced front ball joints and tie rods with fresh alignment 12/2016 ($580)
  • New window tint 5/2015 (20% all around, $220)
  • HID headlight retrofit with projectors, new headlight housings 4/2015 (~$400) as well as LED interior lights installed for fresh, clean modern look
  • Full detail, carpet shampoo 1/2017 ($110)
  • New JBL amp with upgraded Pioneer speakers installed. You even have AUX cable input to be enable you plug in your iPod, iPhone, etc. and listen to your music THROUGH THE STOCK HEADUNIT!!!
Sunroof works, all power windows work, power seats work, all interior illumination and lights work, 6-disc CD Changer works, A/C blows ice cold, heater blows hot. I regularly cruise this puppy around and receive compliments all the time on how good it looks. Colleagues and friends can never believe it’s a 99.

All in, this SHO has received a little over $6,000 in parts, enhancements and preventative since 2014. Think about that...do you want to buy another SHO and then proceed to invest all this money on your own on top of it? NO! ]

This SHO is ready for you, available to purchase now and asking just $3,450 (yes, just $3450...and yes, that's less than the price of the new transmission alone just about 1 year ago). Again, located in Tampa, FL – car has 129k miles as of 2/5/2017.

I’d like to keep it, but the time has come to move onto something else. I’d like to take the money to apply towards buying another cool toy. This is my 3rd GEN III SHO and I’d love to see it go to another enthusiast and keep this rare beauty on the road.

Happy to say I didn't have to wait long at all to sell, after just 1 day on the market the SHO sold to a nice young man named Jared! I told him to join here, hoping he does. Wishing him best of luck with the SHO.

John Stoessel here. Glad to hear that your SHO continues to run strong and remains in the SHO community. Hope it found a good home and stays around for years to come.
