Hi All,

I waas quoted $805 plus tax for my dealer to replace the front lower valance and the LF collision sensor.

Sounds very high to me, as I thought I have seen valances for under $100.

Anyone have any thoughts? Experience replacing either part?

Thanks in advance!

the sensor is in the bumper cover - is that (the bumper cover) what you are replacing? if so, $800 is a deal.

The sensor is in the bumper cover, correct. They said that the labor to replace it included removing the bumber, not replacing. The lower valiance is the plastic piece that gets scraped everytime I pull out of my driveway as i have a dip by the driveway and street. It just sounds extremely high. I think the lower valiance part is exactly this:

yes, the valence piece is easy to install. r/r the bumper cover to do the sensor is much more complicated.

Don't do it! You can get the camera on Amazon for ~$50 and install it yourself. It's super easy to do.

I wish I had seen this original post.

I can remove the entire front bumper cover in about 12min of time, and that rear camera is equally as fast.

All for what the stealership is wanting $1,500 total from you all said and told?

Goodness Christ!

Greg where you located? I'll take your money. Lol.

Tell your service advisor to kindly not charge you "book time" as we all know both jobs can be done much quicker than what the book says and any/all "repairs" performed/completed under the stated book time, is pure profit for them.

Is it really really easy to do? I am not close to mechanically inclined! I am in NJ. I would give it a shot though. Just don't know if it includes wiring or whatever but they said they just need to replace the camera?
