Hey everyone, I just bought a 2011 SHO and I'm loving it so far. I just have a few questions and I was hoping someone here could help me out. First, has anyone been able to reprogram the remote start auto shut off? I've seen videos on how to do it, but they all involve turning the key to on and I have the push to start button. I've tried hitting the button without the brake first to turn on acc power, and then holding the service button and brake but I couldn't get into learn mode.

Second, I was wondering if there is any way to black out the nav screen? My best friend has a Pontiac g8 gt and he can push two buttons together on his headlight control and it shuts his screen down, so I was wondering if we have anything like that.

And finally, are the 2013 SHO grills compatible with a 2011?

I'd be interested in any other tips or tricks you guys have too.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase! I'm a old school SHI owner so I can't be much help with your query, but I'm sure others will chime in soon.

A 2010 RED SHO would have added to the crowd! LOL! Congrats, Pacers182, and welcome to the forum. No idea on the electronics Qs but the 2o13+ grilles are not directly compatible with the 2010-12's. Have not heard of a successful attempt to do so yet.

Tips or tricks?
  1. Make sure your maintenance is up to date before you add performance mods :)
  2. Do your own fluid changes if you don't have a trusted mechanic to go to, too many horror stories of underfilled/overfilled/wrong spec fluid out there.
  3. The taillight chrome might peel, so if you can sand the chrome off and repaint, plastidip, or just get a lower trim taillight set (from a JY) are the available solutions.
  4. Use a quality microfiber cloth to get fingerprints off the shiny center console, and a Novus kit or PlastX to get surface scratches off.
  5. Debadge the EcoBoost emblem from the trunk, as you will need to periodically drive the SHO hard to keep it running well.
  6. Protect the paint!!!

On my 2010 there is a "DISP" or "DISPLAY" button near the screen (don't remember the exact name). If you press it once it will only leave the bottom bar of the screen. If you press it a second time it will black it out completely.

Thanks for the welcome Toolman, I'm really happy theres a place like this around.

All good tips SHOdded, I appreciate it.

And right on SilverSHO. I'll look for something like that when I get off work.

I tried the remote start trick again (seen here
) and still no luck. I can't find a video or explanation of how to do it with the push to start button. If I cant figure it out, I'll just have to take it to a dealership and see if they can help me out. I don't want to have to start my car twice in the winter.

Thanks for the tip on the Novus kit. Just picked up our "new" 2013 SHO last night. The only flaw I've found, on the car, is the light scratching on the console doors. This'll make the wife happy
