Just got some O ring seals for the valve cover bolts.

From my recent engine rebuild i have a new set of valve cover gaskets and O rings for the spark plug wells.

What I dont want to do is to remove the valve covers totally

My thoughts and i want to get the groups opinion is this:

I plan to take the left front corner bolt off and remove it ..... and the right rear corner bolt and remove it ..... put the new bolt seal in and re torque

Go through the same sequence until all bolts seals are replaced on both sides of the motor

Any thoughts of issues doing it this way ???

Thats what i am thinking .... also in a different thread ... got a message from one of the moderators to do a T in the line that is black .... that goes from the top of the block to the TB ... the hard black vapor hose .... and run a line to vent it to remove pressure in the crankcase ..... ie some oil leakage ..... on a newly rebuilt motor with all new seals ..... ( almost all new seals ! ) ... Also going to use Lucas Oil which my Service manager swears by .... he says in his restored T bird Turbo coupe ... that it helped soften the valve guides and oil consumption went way down

well if it really softens valve guides, you should run away as fast as you can...

since you brought this up ..... I know every motor is different in build design

Our service manager at the ford store i work at restored a old super coupe T bird and used Lucas oil to soften what I believe he meant the rubber valve seals/guides .... what ever and it reduced oil consumption.

I dont know this product and I have never replaced valve guides/seals so Im a bit knowledgeless on this subject

Those who know both .... the oil and valves ..... does this make sense to use in this motor with 80k on it ???

Will it hurt ... help ....
