Who all from NESHOC is heading to Minnesota? As usual, I'm on the fence (to go I'd need to R&R fuel pump, fix small oil leak, and several other cosmetic items (or enter the Road Warrior class)).

While the distance is far, MN makes a lot of sense for a mid summer convention location (far enough north that it shouldn't be a scorcher)

Kirk and I are going for sure. As far as every one else is concerned I'm not sure!

It still gets hot and humid or as you described a "scorcher", ask me how I know.

Yeah. The mid west in late summer sucks.. Living in Omaha for 10 years I remember that clearly..

Altho with all this rain weve been getting here, the humidity has been up there.

I only went to 2 conventions , and both were scorchers , specially the Nashua (boston) one. The day of the car show I was sweating like a pig and I was only walking through the cars.... The Detroit one , it was the humidity that killed.

I donno if its because im from up north and im not used to that kind of weather or what not...

No, humidity just sucks. I'd much rather spend a day here in AZ in the mid-high 90's and 10% humidity than a day in Massachusetts at 80 and 70% humidity. I spent the majority of my childhood in Leominster and do not miss the humidity at all.

Of course, what they call trees down here would barely be considered a shrub in MA. :)

What??

Nashua & Seattle were the two coolest, weather-wise Conventions that I can recall!! ;)

Nashua track day was pretty comfortable, relatively-for-a-Convention speaking!

Anyway, I'm in for this one. Car #1.

I still don't know which car to bring. Picking up the white '89 in KY early next week. Was gonna do the Tokicos & B&G springs for the Convention, but work may start in 2 weeks, rather than late July, so it may have to be the SVT. Too many "Honey Dos" to do before work starts!!

FYI for any and all convention attendee's:
Although it is more likely to be cooler than many more southern locations, don't bank on it. It actually was as hot and humid here last year, which was high 90's to low 100's with very high dew pts. and humidity, for 4 of 5 convention days (counting sunday) as it was in NC. A couple of the days were slightly worse. And it wasn't just a 1 in fifty or a hundred year deal, we don't often get quite that bad, but we do have plenty of 80's and 90's with high humidity and dew points, so pack for cool and hot to very hot weather. We just had a bunch of 70's and 80's in early March, so you never know.

AND FYI make sure your fans are running on all of your car if you are coming. The road construction planned around convention time in the St Cloud area will make traffic in LA look good.

Also on the fence about this 1400 mile + trip. If I do go (which I want to), It will unfortunately be 99.9% not in the SHO.

....but what I drive up may be some good competition on the track

boat, Ron, while I appreciate the responses, this thread is in the NESHOC section for a reason . . . to see who is going, or thinking of going, from our neck of the woods.

Just went to mount my summer wheels only to find that two have cracks around the lugs . . . . oh joy. Anybody want to buy an ROH Snyper or two?

I'm going for sure, I just sent my registration in the other day.

I still have to install my hood latches, try and get my rear seat re-upholstered, replace some interior bits, and my lower control arms are due for replacement. Oh, and weld in my subframe connectors. Plenty of time! :bonk:

I am planning on being there, but still haven't figured out if I'm leaving from Quebec, MA, STL (2002 is still in STL), or maybe even just flying.

Fly to STL, and drive from there??

Unless the '02 has been used as a spare parts car!!

Just the issue of weapons conveyance when flying.

I've driven from MA, up to my aunt's in Colebrook, NH and then to a family reunion in upper Minnesota in '91. Was quite a fun trip from what I remember. Across Quebec, Ontario, UP, WI and into MN that way. If I was driving, I'd do that...
