I took delivery of my new SHO on Monday. I love it! I came over from a mildly modded out Trailblazer SS and the SHO is probably just as quick or a little slower but a hellofa lot nicer when it comes to interior, finish, ride quality, and so on. I wanted silver or grey but my dealer couldn't find one locally with the performance package so I went with black... can't go wrong with black right? I really dig the red too but my TBSS was red so I wanted a change. I'm all smiles this week. This is the nicest car I've ever owned.
I love the wheels but I kind of wish Ford would've given the upgraded brakes some flashier calipers too. Not painted fire engine red or anything just powder coated with a SHO logo on them like Volvo did with the old S60Rs.

I ordered the MaxBoost 445 package from Hennessey. I'm totally stoked to see how this thing runs after the tune. I'm probably going to wait before I install the tune on it though, wait until its broken in. I was thinking about doing suspension upgrades too but I might just stick with the tune package. For a 5500 lb car this thing slings around pretty nicely. I'm excited to take it up north and play on the back country roads a little bit.

There is supposed to be a "true off mode" for the traction control with the performance package. Is this just the traction control button located in front of the console? On my Blazer you had to hold the traction control button down for five seconds to **** the stabilitrack too. I dont know if hitting that button on the SHO turns everything off or if you need to do an additonal process too.

Cool - looks good in black with the new wheels. But 5500lbs ?! Either you have a trunk full of bricks, or you misread the specs. It's a little below 4400lbs.

What does the Hennessey tune cost?

Actually its the 3rd option, I type like a child and flubbed it.

I'm happy with the black. I kind of wanted that smoked grey color they have but I couldn't find one locally with a performance package in that color.

$3600 for the Hennessey kit. Thats the tune, the Corsa catback, intercooler piping, CAI, badging and headrest embroidery.

Are you sure that Hennessey has the capability at this time to tune the 2013 SHO? The 2013 ECM is not the same as the 2010-2012.

Congratulations on the new SHO! I think you did well with the black color.

As for disabling the AdvancTrac with the PP, check your owner's manual, but assuming it hasn't changed since the 2011, if you press the Traction Off button twice quickly once the car is started it will put the stability control in a less intrusive "sport" mode. If you press and hold the button for 5 seconds it will turn off the traction and stability control completely.

They claim to have one ready for the 13, thats why I went that route.

I stand corrected. One will be out in the next 15 days and I'll download it. I'm pumped! My Blazer woke up angry after the tune I got from Vector here in Michigan. I'm sure this SHO is going to be a lot of fun too.

Congratulations, I also traded in a 08 TBSS on my 10 SHO. I remember being amazed at how the smooth the SHO is compared to the SS.

I believe so. The tuner they show on their site is an SCT tuner. Everything ships out today so I'll know more when I get it.

Good luck.... SCT employee says they (SCT) can only support the not-turbo 2013. Maybe Hennessey has another supplier for a tuner & software.... Keep us posted.

If you can give me the strategy of your PCM or a photo of the sticker on the PCM, I can verify SCT supports it.

Hennessey says the codes will be available in a couple weeks. I wont be doing the tune until I get a few k's on the odometer first. I dont know the difference between hand tuners and a gameboy. I've taken my last two cars to local performance shops and had them tuned. Hennessey says the tuner will work and I'm sure it will. If it doesn't I'm sure I'll be pitching a ***** about it.
I'm sure I coulda saved a few bucks if I went with a local tuner, bought the Corsa kit separately and did without the headrests and intercooler piping and other nonsense but its what I felt like getting... so I did. According to the tracking # my order should arrive Thursday. Its unlikely I'll get the exhaust put on before I go up north friday morning I was kind of looking forward to that. At least I'll get the headrests put in so I can give back these white Lincoln ones I've been borrowing.


I had my windows tinted this week and had a buddy wire the V1 into the car so I don't have the cord going from my console to my windshield.
Its only been two weeks but I absolutely love this car. I need to have the body shop tweak the drivers door a bit (sticks out a bit) but other than that shes been solid and enjoyable.

I hope everyone enjoys their memorial weekend, thanks a veteran, and gets to loosely interpret the speed limit on some back country road.

You're lucky to live in a state that doesn't force you to have a front license plate, or restrict the amount of tint on your windows.

The tint on the front windows isn't allowed but I've had it on all my cars and only been pulled over once.

I've had tint since 1989.

Even with 35% all around, I didn't get any crap when I was pulled over for 110 in a 70 on I-69 1.5 years ago.

Just drop both the driver & passenger windows when you get stopped.

I'm now running 20% on the Focus SVT, work truck, and the wife's '06 Grand Prix.

I got 5% all around on my black SHO. Yeah its illegal but it looks awesome never been pulled in over a year most cops don't care anyway.
