hey guys i just got a sho today 95 atx red and i have a few basic questions

1. the car struggles, (cel on) fuel smell, wile driving to hit 4k even under full load if u keep it floored it will eventually get there(secondaries work).

2. it needs mufflers and i need an opinion on witch to get and if i should run 1 or 2 mufflers.

3. the temp gauge does not move i did buy sensor will replace tomorrow do u think that will fix it?

4. Please give me a chance with this car OK, I have good job at ford and will be good with buying parts ect. for now Hello and i am glad u guys are doing good maybe we can meet up down the road again thanks for the advice:thankyou:

pics to come Tuesday very clean rust free under neath, little rust around rear wheels, a few new parts just it sat for a long time.

edit one more thing
5. the blower motor with the eatc when u hit off the defrost come on full bore i had to pull the fuse for now thanks

1. pull the codes and report back. could be many things.
2. anything will work, depends on sound you are looking for. 1 or 2 is just a "looks" thing. what ever floats your boat.
3. replace both sensors
4. good luck.

Go over the plug wire routing and inspect all plugs and wires...or just swap them out right out of the gate along with the plugs.

Make sure the engine ground strap is correctly attached.

I would bet that your plug wires are at fault. People sell shos because they get the routing wrong after a tune up or forget the ground strap or something simple like that and can't figure it out.

thx guys i will check the firing order tomorrow and will replace both temp sensors.
i will also pull the codes at work.

1. First, pull codes, asking this does not help us when you have a light that will nearly pinpoint the problem. Is there a misfire?... Again, pull the codes, its not hard.

5. Blower motor is on when you hit off? Probably a short to ground somewhere, check the wiring. Replacing the motor might help too... There may be an internal short... Is the motor weak when the fan is on full?

will pull codes at work this morning for cel and check firing order it does have newer plugs and wires not oem

5. check under the dash behind the glove box to see if any of the vacuum lines running to and from the heat_a/c have become disconnected.

will pull codes at work this morning for cel and check firing order it does have newer plugs and wires not oem

Try re-seating the EATC... it sounds like a wires crossed thing, and that probably the easiest first step... Also follow FreakSho's advice, since a crossed HVAC line that controls what ducting airflow goes through can do that too... It definitely sounds like one of the vac lines got crossed to the wrong fitting.

Milwaukee and i will check eatc guys thanks alot no codes yet the tool at work was broke gonna do it with the cel instead will report back.

update
code 211 PIP circuit fault
code 452 vss Insufficient input from vehicle speed sensor (VSS)
code 172 HEGO sensor indicates system lean (LH)
code 332 EGR valve opening not detected.
code 542 witch i know i caused when i reset trunk fuel switch


the code for the egr 332 is because the two vaccume lines were brittle and broke so egr is not connected before this test.

211 points to cps correct or dis?
452 is vss??

edit ok well half of the dis is melted away and when i wiggle the wire to it the car dies and wont start tell i rewiggle it

so i need a dis if anyone has one
also i need the vss for sure but i dunno witch one 19 bolt pan or 17 bolt pan
cleaned maf well see what that does.
also egr fixed replaced lines thx

well dis is good to go was loose connection (tested at advanced auto)
I did
oil change and filter
fuel filter
t-stat
front rotors
and replaced a brake line today
still needs VSS and some small things

not sure about the o2 sensor yet but i know it has to be cause of the 172 code

I finally installed my rotated motor mounts, changed my oil, and sorta fixed my exhaust leak. Do you guys think if i get a header that it will stop leaking?

Dan I heard if you put marbles in the leafblower on your intake it will silence the exhaust leak.

Mike how many times did they run the DIS on the tester?

he ran it 3 times on the tester if i remember right
I also changed the o2, new coil pack, plug wires,and new motorcraft plugs.
I did water-pump today after driving an hour to pick up along with cps.
should be ready to fire up Monday night. only thing left is the vss.

update car is alive but i can hear/tell there is a cylinder not firing right but its random between 3 and 5 k then it comes back.
new wires and plugs installed old coil pack, could it be the plug gap i never pre gapped them before install. But hey she runs..

update misfire fixed
I had one of the new plugs with no crush washer and one with 2 crush washers causing the miss.Its all fixed and works fine now no code and gas mileage went up

Also i had a clunking wile coming to a stop turns out was the strut rod bushings so i did them shes much better with tighter steering to.
