How does plastidip hold up to car washes on a grille? The idea sounds great but from looking at the website it sounds like it wouldn't holdup to the car wash. My wife gets me the unlimited washes each year so I'm addicted to at least one a week.

My old V would always get hand washed. This one I'm not being as ****. It's gone through 4 or 5 washes. Good as new. I know there are others who have gone through many more washes and it stays good as new...

Mine has gone through touchless and soft cloth washes all winter

Thanks for the feedback! Hand washes were for back when I was in my 20's. Too damn lazy now. Glad to hear it holds up so well. Bought a couple cans today at lunch and hopefully I'll have some time on Saturday to use it.

I pre orderd a couple of cans of the Plasti Dip Smoke. Susposed to give chrome a smoked translucent look. I will be doing the grill, window trim and rear chorme.

Love the chrome delete cheech. It came out nice. Did you remove all the pieces or block any off and spray while on the car?

No I left everything on. Just spray it thick enough so it will peel off of the areas you dont want it on. It cuts its own edge as you peel it so the lines are perfect. I did tape and used paper to cover some areas to help with some overspray but you want it to overlap the chrome so you have a peeling point to get the edge to cut right.

Your V is sweet!!!! I had an '04 V for a few years. Loved that car, but had to have the rear end replaced twice.

Cheech,
Your pics look great!! Did you also do the lower body cladding? Hard to tell in the pics. That's one helluva upgrade in my book. :omgsho:

No the lower cladding is stock. Was thinking about painting it the body color. Not sure yet.

Wow, that looks great! I was thinking on doing the monochrome look like Kirk Doucette's, but I like the blackout look so may give this a shot. How many cans of Plasti Dip did it take to do all if it?
