Welcome! What's done to the Chevelle?

Well quite a bit 454 to a 468, 2 holley 600 CFM carbs with the choke collars cut off for a little more CFM, aggresive cam (not sure on what it is), headers, mallory electric fuel pump, MSD ignition, distributor etc... the works alot to get into but it has about 600+ HPish. It is not totally elaborate but it's quick.

There is a thread specifically dedicated to boosting (turbo) a SHO. I believe it is a sticky in the Gen 1/2 tuning, forced induction..... Section.

Have you decided if you want a turbo or SC yet (reference to our cardomain discussion)?

I think im gonna go with the turbo im a cheap bastard and it seems a bit cheaper. besides im going to take the whole car down to frame to restore it so it dont really matter how hard or easy the install is and from what i have read the turbo and SC are esentially the same power so yea..

Well, you've got a lot of research ahead of you. A turbo and supercharger will have very different characteristics and if you are picking one over initial cost, you're in for a very rude awakening.

Yes I know i have alot of research and I am really trying to wrap my head around it. It is a huge undertaking and I will say alot more difficult then a Classic muscle car simply for my lack of knowledge.

Welcome to the forum, both cars look nice. As Jason pointed out there is a turbo FAQ on the first page of the forced induction section.

Although I wouldn't keep any dreams of blowing the doors off your dads yvehc in the 1/4 mile anytime soon/ever. Sho's are not quarter mile cars by any means. That car with half the horsepower would still run faster then even boosted sho's unfortunately. Good luck with the rebuild though.
