Well, this weekend I decided last minute to go to a different car show instead of the Pavillions..... And what a good decision that was!

The Pavillions is good and all, but lately it seems like there have been less hot rods and more rice..... :rice:

Soooooo I heard about this show in the parking lot by the Bass Pro Shop in the Mesa Riverview center off the 202.

If anyone is wondering, I've never seen so many gorgeous cars in my life. :dribble:

I didn't stay to long, with an Oktoberfest celebration going on in Fountain Hills.... But every Saturday they will have a car show there. There is even a live band. Tons of old hot rods. Some newer cars too. I parked towards the back of the lot near some Trans-Ams.

If I had known how nice the cars were going to be I would have brought a camera.

Figured I'd let you all know if you didn't already. Totally worth going! :sun:

The number of parking lot car shows in the area is really climbing. The one over by the west side Harbor Freight on Bell is really growing and just a mile up the road there is another in the K-Mart parking lot that is gaining traction. If you are into low riders (and dodging bullets) there was a nice one I used to drive by on about 35th and Northern or Dunlap. Heck, a few months ago I went up to the corner car wash and the, I'm not making this up, Chevy Cavalier club, was having a little show. Who the **** gets excited about Cavaliers?

I'm good, but mostly I've been driving my wife's yellow bug. You know you're secure in your manhood if you drive a yellow bug.

How's the land of a trillion lakes?

been pretty busy, haven't spent a whole lot of time home, and when I can I spend as much of it either with my wife and kid, or hiding on the water somewhere fishing.

My job is really cutting into my deer hunting time right now (season opened up 2 weeks ago, and the unit I usually hunt is unlimited this year for antler-less Deer)

I've been in St. Louis, bugging St. Louis SHO and Intertinker when I'm not working lately. probably be working down here off and on till thanksgiving.

my daughter broke her arm two weeks ago, that's about the most exciting thing lately.

your wife drives beetle, mine drives exploder limited V8... go figure lol.

pavillions is better in the late afternoon or early evening. I was just there an hour ago and there was a ton of stuff there. rods, muscle, import, bikes and a side of rice.

I kind of like the atmosphere at the Pavs better. I'll most likely continue bringing the SHO down there.

If I run out of wallpaper for my laptop I'll head to riverview to take pictures.

Also a couple of weeks ago at the pavs there was a Ford '32 powered by a flathead v12. Exhaust sounded like none other. :dribble:

I have talked to that cat. IIRC, he has close to 70k tied up in that thing. I think the v12 is out of Lincoln Zephyr. Did you notice that you can't see one tube or wire on that thing?

We are talking about a suede black paint job w a red v 12 right?

I was there las Sat - lots of drool - worthy hardware:)

That V-12 was at last years Deuce's Only Show at Sanderson Ford. We just left this year's SHOw with our lowly 32 and he wasn't there this year. Neither were a lot of the exotic 32's from years past. I wonder if they are passing on Deuce Day for the Riverview get together?

Suede black, red v12, that's the one.

The v12 was at Pavillions when I saw it. Deuce Day was today?

Also does anybody know of anything that was going down in Tucson today? I was out and about and saw a TON of really nice cars...

Also random snitbit here....

One of my brother's friends bought a 91 mocha SHO. He's 16 and was driving a 94 dodge shadow. Bought the SHO with broke fuel pump for 800 bucks. He's gunna sell the shadow. My dad is going to help him with it. I guess it's in nice shape w/ 89k miles.

Thanksgiving weekend there might be two SHOs at the Pavs :naughty:

Good to hear somebody will fix that Mocha SHO. I was curious how low the price would go, the seller was originally asking close to $2k......

Was that the SHO on CL whose owner didn't have time to fix it since his band was going on tour, but the ad ran for months and months?

That's the one. I had been bothering my dad about that one since it went up. Telling him he needs a nice daily driver.

I guess the guy's band got a record deal finally and they needed money for a tour. Haha

I try to get there before 5. I usually stop by the Guitar Center too so I'm usually down there early. 2am is damn early. That's just crazyness. Again I won't be there again til Thanksgiving weekend, so 2 and a half weeks. I've seen Nomov8SHO down there before, and hopefully I'll get mine running and we will get my friend's down there so maybe we will have a SHO from each gen.
