don't knock it till you try it
I've thought it over and i'm not going to post all the data just to give you a hard time with your skepticism, last year I did the same trip and averaged 29mpg and best was 33mpg on the way back
So you have no data then. That's what I figured.
So if it were so easy to get 40 MPG in the SHO don't you think Ford would:
1. Increase tire pressure to 40 PSI
2. Install a K&N From the factory
3. Tweak the ECU to make it more granny like
4. Require premium
I mean a multi billion dollar company that lives and dies by CAFE ratings and would love to tout 40 MPG in a large sedan would jump on it if it were that simple. The fact is it isn't and either there is:
1. Overstatement in your facts
2. Error in your L/100km to MPG calc
3. You got the ringer SHO.
so Troll Harder Bro... every conversation with you is like arguing with a hard headed senior citizen that refuses to try new things if its not written in a manufacturer book you won't believe it till you experienced it
So you resort to name calling. Let's see, I'm not a senior nor am I opposed to new ideas. I do work in IT and have to be flexible. But I'm also not some kid who thinks that every thing that comes along is better than OEM. Or that the OEM's don't know what they are doing. They do and spend millions on these cars, testing, and making them foolproof for today's idiot. So I'll take their recommendations over an aftermarket manufacturer any day. I'm in it for the long haul. I expect to put 150k on my SHO before I get rid of it. Ford has tested it to 150k and I'll stick with them.
So call me what you want - no skin off my back. Enjoy your car - that's the important thing.
