Just a few comparison pictures of springs I have had on my 91. Since my car is pretty light my ride height info isn't too helpful to most. My car does sit lower on Moog -3 than Eibach -2. Moog -3 and Eibach -2.5 sit very close to the same, except the Eibach -2.5 are not functional. Eibachs will take -2 coils, but -2.5 and they will not seat on the mount. At that point you are past the dead coils. Personally I prefer Moog over Eibach. Figured I would put these out since I have them.

Eibach, Moog -2, Eibach -2.5

Currently Moog-3 front, Eibach -2 rear.

I have always been curious. How does it affect the ride of the car when you cut a coil off? I've got eibachs on mine and it sits ok. Just wondering if it woudl greatly decrease the ride quality if i cut a half or maybe 1 full coil off?

As long as you don't bottom the strut out, it shouldn't make a noticeable difference in ride quality because the coils you cut are dead coils (normally fully compressed).

Im aware its a race car but do you have issues with it dragging on stuff? Been looking into springs and wondering what ride heights are like for a DD and trying to prevent my bumper from disappearing a little every time i leave my driver way..
Thanks David

Also how'd you cut em?

I scrap everything. My chin spoiler drops my bumper another 2" at least though also.

I DD it right now, until I have time to straighten out the 94, although I am the extremely cautious guy that scans the road non stop, avoids every *** hole, pulls in and out of steep drives sideways, and slows down when I know there is a bump coming. You just have to adjust your driving. There are cars much lower than mine.

I would run Moog -1.5 front or Eibach -1 at the most for a DD that you are worried about scraping with. We just use a cut off wheel. Takes 30secs.

I did one coil on the front, it gave the car a nice rake, but the rear of mine sits higher with eibachs than most factory sprung cars. I would do -1 all the way around, maybe -1.5 on the front if I did it again.

Rides the same at it did before, maybe better since I swapped out the worn out/blown Tokicos for sensatracs.

Thanks! I figured 1 to 1.5 would be the max i could get away with on DD and this has confirmed it.

Just out of interest what brand or brands (if you run a different setup for front/back) do you prefer to run?

This is the only picture comparing rear springs right? all the rest look like front springs...

I'm very happy with the Eibach (-1 coil)/Monroe front setup. My questions pertain only to the rear of the car.

What would you recommend for the new Eibach's i'm swapping onto the back end of Green (gen2)? I want a little less wheel gap than I have now.

I'm wondering if there is a significant benifit to cutting one coil out of the Eibach's b/4 loading them into the strut assembly. I'm assuming after putting the strut assembly back together there is still some adjustment (probably mostly cosmetic but maybe a little lower CG too) of the strut housing in the knuckle.

I'd really like to get your opinion b/4 deciding whether to hack a brand new Eibach, or not...!

I would personally do -1 on the rear too. I can try to take a picture of my car today from the side to show you what it looks like with -1 in the front, 0 in the rear on Eibachs.

Those are also fronts. I would do -1 all around. That is what I had on the 94. It was an ATX though so the front was a little lower than your car would be.

Thank you gentleman.

I added pictures above I just took at lunch, rear cladding is ~1.5" higher in the back.

Rear strut housing is sticking out about 1.5" below knuckle.

...you sure about that?

I think your spot on about -1 coil x 4. I may raise the strut housing a skosh in the knuckle to maintain perch clearance. Already gotta use a 5mm spacer to keep the 17X9 t-bird spec Cobra-R replica's from rubbing on the inside.

Tommy Boy calls em my over the boarder spec...

I just hate seeing all that street gravel thrown at the paint daily, on a track, that's a different story.

No you are correct. I can see the knuckle/strut assembly in the rear. That means those are Eibach -1 and Moog uncut. I forgot I took pictures from the 94 spring swap.
