Haven't heard everything yet, but the team formally know as El Toro Loco now known as Starsky and Hutch took 3rd. RRRR now known as Mash lost a clutch and ended with a engine knock. Don't know where they finished.

Awesome! I always love to hear track stories. Funny thing is I was watching the speed channel on Friday night and they had coverage of an older Lemons race. I believe it was the one at the end of last year. I caught a glimpse or two of a SHO. RRRR took 9th. Some neon won.

I cried a little in New Orleans when I saw one of the mash guys pouring cold water on their 300 degree engine.

Was this the first race on the replacement engine?

Yep. After we installed the engine we found out from the PO that he used Amsoil with 20k oil change intervals. It had one of those dual bypass filters on it and did oil analysis but we'll see what broke when I pull the pan. And if it's fixable or not.

The engine had good oil pressure before it broke. Looks like me the the machine shop are going to see alot of each other.

The Oklahoma City guys popped a head gasket on theirs late Saturday afternoon. It was only 76 degrees that day.

I have 2 more engines I can use, so I can race 2 more times.......

What were we going to do, ruin the engine? It got hot enough to melt the knock sensor, that can't be good for the rings/pistons etc.

The engine had seized up after about a 1/2 hour of racing with little to no water in it. We were trying to cool the engine down any way we could. Even after 1/2 an hour had passed, water was still boiling on the valve covers, so the engine must have been hotter than 300 degrees in my opinion. You should have smelled the oil, it was cooked.

That was the Chicago race at Autobahn. Great track, good race. We had a wheel bearing failure in the towards the end of saturday, so we started Sunday in 31st place and worked our way back to a 9th place finish.

There were three other SHO's at that track, one team from Oklahoma finished 8th, and there was also a SHO powered Metro.

Wow, looked at the pics, Starsky and Hutch team has been on a diet!

Well duh! That's why they are finishing higher each race. They almost won, but a gas stop with 40 minutes to go made it impossible to win. Too bad, everything just has to go your way to beat some of these other teams.

I'm really diggin the SHO with the .50 cal on the roof...I'm actually contemplating a similar paint scheme for my 95. That car appears to be lowered via intrax.

That show had incredibly boring coverage of an otherwise, exciting race.
