You might want to think about swaping to the gen 3 subframe.
If you dont mind can you explain this a little bit to me? I owned one sho before and loved it but didn't really do much research about it. The one I just bought needs to be restored quite a bit. Can I just get what your talking about from one at the junk yard? I would really appriciate any advice on my rebuid. Thanks!

Ok so I did the search and found some of the info on what to grab, but I guess my question is why? Is there something wrong with the gen 1 front supension or???

Thanks I appriciate the easy answer. lol I'm not looking for a drag car by any means. I already have that and only want a reliable daily driver that I can enjoy. So if I didn't want to change to GEN 3 sub frame is there a good place to buy the bushing kit?

Normally I would agree in the search, but he didn't start this thread asking questions about the Gen III swap, it was suggested to him. Given that, it would help him to point him in the right direction or give a quick brief on the subject.

No question about it, replace them with Energy Suspension parts. Energy Suspension PN 4.7119G is the kit for the tension rod bushings. Have the cups welded before you take it all apart. Also before diving in, check for play in the inner and outer tie rod ends. Replace as necessary. Energy Suspension 9.5160G is the kit for the front sway bar bushings. They come with straight grease fittings installed, but replace them with 90 degree fittings. Shop Energy Suspension parts at Autozone, Amazon, and SHO Source.

Ya.. Don't use the TPR ones. I bought the TPR kit and they split (front strut rod bushings) a few months later under normal driving.

The subframe. I have mine done in the back so as not to get in the way of the bushings, but I've seen them welded in front too.
Good time to do it is when you have your frame out for paint. Or any exhaust shop can usually rip out the strut rods and weld the cups.
*edit.. Also if you don't mind going a little stiffer. Moog TPR bushings: MOOG-K8516 (at frame 1 required) and MOOG-K8613 (at LCA 2 required). Or you could try the Prothane 61214 which doesn't come with washers but is probably cheaper than Energy.

I'm going to pull my 95atx apart this week, and want to do it right.
Still on stock suspension with 212k miles.
It's time for all new parts.

I agree, I've calculated how much I spent on myy front end work and I would've rather done Gen3 swap.(IF someone would've brought up this topic before i finished all the work).
that would probably be cheaper too.
