What do you guys use for strut mounts??

I have been using Monroe strut mounts for the past seven years, since I bought my SHO and they don't seem to last as long as the struts. Right now my set up is Monroe Sensa Tracs with Eibach springs and has been for a long time however it seems I need strut mounts more than I need struts. Right now I have maybe 30-40k miles on my struts and mounts and I replaced them almost 2 years ago and my right front mount is making a terrible popping sound.

I'm curious what everyone else on here has good luck with.

Either improper installation or a separate issue. I thought I had bad strut mounts but it was actually the endlinks.

no, there is a significant difference in the stiffness of the rubber in the different brands of strut mounts. unfortunately, I haven't figured out which brand the good ones are yet.....

It's definately strut mounts. Endlinks are new, wheel bearings are new, outer tie rod is new, and LCA is new.

Ive never had an issue with Monroe.

Maybe ther roads here are a little worse than your area. Where I live they are pretty bad.

Do you have the Moog metal end links or those plastic looking ones. When I 1st bought my blue92 I replaced the end links with the plastic looking ones and around 20k of driving I got the popping sound. First we replaced the strut mounts thinking that was the issue, nope still popping. Tony then replaced the end links with the Moog metal ones, popping gone. Also it felt much stiffer up front.

You talking front or rear mounts? I usually get alot of miles out of the fronts (besides the bearings) Rear mounts on the other hand fail regularly.

My rears usually do fail before my fronts but in this case it's the right front that failed.

If I did the Gen 3 subrame swap would I still be using the gen 2 mounts??

I popped the joint out of a plastic endlink in about 20k miles.

Monroe strut mounts have been my first choice. Never had problem with them and I'm running Koni's. Improper installation is my guess. It is imperative that you use both the top and bottom washer in the correct direction when installing the mounts on the struts.

They were installed correctly, I guess I was just hoping to get 80-100k out of them not 40k.
