Sorry no other sho's could make it. I ended up placing second in my class out of 5. Some weird street tire index class I had never heard of. I usually race in Street Mod Street Tire. In Street Mod (where alot run slicks) I would have placed 4th out of 8. Overall 23rd out of 50 cars. I was happy with it considering this only my 7th event overall and my 3rd since redoing the suspension/wavetrac. I have some pics....just need to figure out how to post them.

Sounds like a good time! Any pictures?

Looking at the times looks like your Right in the middle. Not easy on a Full weight SHO! Good driving.

Thanks. Ill post up some pics this weekend. The biggest limiting factor of the car was me. With some more seat time I could definatly shave some more time off. The car is faster than I am. I did have a very experinced driver ride along and give me some pointers. At the end of the run he complimented the SHO and said it stuck alot better than he anticipated.

Its a definate improvment over stock (of course lol). As far as how it compares to a Quaife, I have never drivin a quaifed sho so I dont have anything to compare it to. I am still not used to it. I am still waiting too long to roll onto the throttle. I am going agian on the 10th...I just need more seat time. I changed alot suspension/wheel/tire wise over the winter.

So how do you like the Wavetrac? How does it compare to the Quaife?

No its not my DD. I am running some negative (I think about -1 or -1.5) and slightly toed out up front to help with turn in. I have been thinking about going more aggressive with the aliagnment....but I also want to try and make the tires last as long as possible. I just dropped $500 on some Star specs.

Do you DD this car? If not, Run as much negative camber up front as you can. Try at least -2 to start.

The star specs will hold up fine. I have a whole season, Drag racing and a few thousand miles of street driving with -2.3* Camber up front on my Star Specs. They got plenty of life left! Rotate them after every few events and enjoy them as they get stickier and stickier as they wear down.

I will look into more negative camber. Are you running any toe out up front? I know that toe wears them faster than camber?

Ill probably get rid of the toe then. So did the increased Camber make a big difference? Anything special in the rear?

I think I run 1.5* in the rear. Not really all the necessary. One thing thing I noticed about having more Camber up front was the steering response, It felt great (This was on a stock sub-frame). It also seemed like the car stuck a little better during hard transitions/slaloms. You will notice it.

Ill have to change mine up some. Id love to finish up top with all those so called "Fast" cars. As it is the car is currently faster than the driver.

Welcome to my World. I wish I had started out with a SHO far less modified then my own, The learning curve has been VERY steep. On the bright side its nice knowing that the car is worth a damn and your not a good enough driver to to exploit its weaknesses. That way, When you do get there, The car can only get better.

Yep. I wasnt thinking of autox when I was modding the car at first. Just wanted to make it fun. Now I know why people say its almost best to learn on a slower car and then step up. I am learning alot now about momentum and trusting the car to stick when I think it wont.

That was a big issue for me as well. It got even worse when I got a set of really sticky tires (The star specs). I think I ran slower with star specs then I did with my old crappy tires the first time.

Yep, my first couple of runs I kept clipping cones and early apexing turns. I would turn the wheel and the car would turn instead of pushing out. The experienced driver I had ride with me kept asking why I wasnt just carrying more speed through the turns and roll onto the throttle sooner. My best run of the day I decided I was just gonna tap the brakes (to load the front tires instead of actually trying to slow down) and then turn in and roll onto the throttle. Figured id **** alot of cones, but instead it settled into every corner and was my fastest time.
