Broken clutch cable? anything else to look for?

hey guys, i am lookin to get another SHO(after 3 years of not having one, i want another one!), and came a cross a white 92 with white slicers about 45 minutes away. it all seems kosher except he says the clutch cable is broken and nobody will fix it. for some reason i think there might be something else goin on with the clutch, else he would have had the cable fixed a while ago. so when i go to look at it this weekend, what all do i need to look for in the clutch/cable assembly(other than the standard sho stuff)? any pics of what to look for?

I would buy it and swap it to a rod... screw the cable...

If it is a 92 it already has a rod shifter. I think he is referring to the cable between the clutch pedal and tranny. Does the tranny disengage at all?

yup, thats what i mean. and i do not know, ill have to ask.
