For the SHO probably :munch:

I like the Challengers in that color, but for a "muscle car" it's just too damn heavy and slow compared to its competition IMO. G/L with it though and keep the dealer on speed dial for warranty work :laugh_ti:

Ya... SHOs are over 4,400lb, the Challengers are a bit over 4,100lb.

You got the definition wrong, the Challenger is now a muscle car, the Mustang is a pony car.
Owners been getting stock SRTs running in the mid 12s; big, heavy, and expensive yes; slow, a bit less so. Also the LX cars had always been reliable, the Challengers are no different.

Stop making yourself sound like the bunch of idiotic sheep that post over at jalopnik and Autoblog.

Bill,

Say it aint so!! What does this make it?? Like 14 cars in 5 years?

LOL

We actually were considering the Challenger before buying the SHO. Just got too good of a deal on the SHO to pass it up.

Have fun with it!!

BTW, did the Dodge dealer throw in the mandatory add-on for free??

show me the vid

Because everyone takes a video when they go for a top speed run?

Google is your friend my good sir. One thing you don't need to google to know is that a car with twice the power (and no governor) of a gen II SHO will probably top out a bit higher than the SHO.
I'm hoping that it was a joke when you thought it ran out of power at 142mph.

Kinda..............
Well I traded in the Sho for a new ride this past Saturday,,, Some will like it others might hate it.. lol
Anyway I bought a 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT8....
She is a six-speed car with Navigation and the Kicker sound system..
I love it so far, I really missed a rear wheel drive manual car since I sold my Roush 428R Mustang last fall..
Anyway I started a small mod list and have a few things coming for it..
But on to the pics so you can check her out...
Bill

He lovingly drove it for 9,700 miles. How many 1/4 mile passes are there in that 9,700 lovingly miles?

how does the coefficient of drag compare to a Gen 1 or 2 SHO though. the only clip I saw was of an SRT8 rolling on a dyno up to 180. I'm curious what it can really do fighting drag. it's also a 4k pound boat which is about 1500 lbs more than a gen 2 SHO... horsepower isn't the only thing at play here.

I saw 160mph riding in a police Charger. I would think the Challenger would have more with the 6.2l hemi instead of the smaller hemi in the police Charger I rode in.

Weight means very little when you're talking about top speed, it's all about power and drag up there.

Also a full weight, fully optioned gen II is around 3,600lb, some 500lb less than a SRT/8 Challenger, not 1,500lb less. ;)
