My name is Brock and I'm from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I just bought an SHO last week. I've been in love with them since I learned of thier existence when I was 13. My car is the original model 1989. I think the color is titanium (silver/pewter). My car is in fair shape with near zero rust and right around 200,000 kms. Car runs and drives good except below 3500rpms. Below that rev range the power is uneven. Might be fuel filter clog. Could be injectors, I'm not sure exactly. Also could be a vaccum leak. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks SHO fans,
-Brock

Welcome to the forums! I Love the original 89's with the titanium silver color...They just brighten up my day... It might be a vacuum leak but it's best to hit the gen 1-2 troubleshoot forums for advice on this one... Anyways welcome to SHOforum!

In a lot of ways the 89's are great, less weight, same power, nice dash, and the distinction of being the first year. The colour is fantastic.
Welcome to the forum that will be your salvation. All the info you need is here, and great people to help you too.

When you say uneven, do you mean it hesitates at different rpms until 3500 or that it just feels slower until 3500? Because if it's the latter we've got a little surprise for ya...:dribble:

Hey, welcome. You should join Alberta Sho Club's website too, we're mostly Edmonton based (but really there's only a few of us) and it's nice to have local people. I've done quite a few engine swaps and repairs, and another local guy has tons of spare parts, so if you need anything, let us know.

I'd be happy to listen to the engine in person and offer some advice.

Yes, Titanium is the name of the color. It's paint code is YF. Clean your MAF sensor. Search button for the procedure.

Welcome.
