Heck yea! I never would have thought the two vehicle models I've owned would combine into one someday. I bet all of the Gen 4 owners will be buying the PI mesh grill and blacked out headlamps too. They look way better IMO.

Also, all of the Crown Vic guys are hating it because they are extrememly resistant to change and FWD. I think it's a step in the right direction, especially with an AWD option.

I have been driving panther cars for almost 20 years till I swapped to D3 about a year ago. I like the Body on Frame design and so do lots of police departments.

I think this the wrong direction but we'll see if Ford can build a better FWD Police car than GM does with the Impala, who is soon to be replaced with the RWD Caprice.

I like BOF too, but it won't meet stricter crash standards coming in the future, doesn't leave enough room to package all of the new features on today's cars and is too heavy to pass EPA mandates. (Yes I know the new SHO weighs more than a CVPI, but a CVPI doesn't have close to the amount of content the new Taurus has. If you crammed AWD plus all of these features in a Panther, I would think it would be much heavier.)

Again, I love my CVPI and hate to see them go, but they just won't pass what the government says is a "safe and efficient" vehicle in the future.

After watching the live reveal, I think a lot of SHO owners are going to be raiding the Police Interceptor parts bin because It's getting:

Upgraded brakes with all new calipers and larger rotors with 60% more swept area
Police tuned 365+hp/350+ft-lb EcoBoost
Police tuned Stability Control for pursuit maneuvers
Greatly increased cooling pack
HD suspension tested to run over an 8" curb @ 40mph!
Ford Exclusive rear crash test rated up to 75 mph!
Plus a bunch more I can't remember.

I love that Grille.

I'll also be upgrading my brakes.

Not sure if the PCM calibration will play nice with our Intelligent Access.

IMO Ford should've definitely ran with this upper grille on all of the 2010 SHO's rather than the grille currently being offered.

I may just be one of those "raiding" the Interceptor parts bin and swapping out grille's....
