I am pretty new at working on a SHO...Love this car and want to get the little things fixed on it...Handy with cars for the most part but I see the valve cover gaskets don't look like a simple task and I was hoping for some tips on replacing the valve cover gaskets.

Thanks for the help,
Matt

Use that site, but here's another tip. Remove the hood. It's 4 bolts, you'll need a helper to remove and reinstall it. The hood is only 4 bolts, but it makes getting to the rear valve cover a LOT easier. There's a wiring harness back there and it's a pain in the butt to get that rear valve cover on/off. Being able to have the space w/o the hood in the way helps out alot.

If you're replacing the valve cover gaskets might as well bite the bullet and perform the entire Upper 60K while you have it apart. Don't forget to clean the intake while it's off. As someone stated, there is a detailed step by step guide on the shophoenix site under Upper 60K.

Number one thing to make sure that you have in your possesion before getting started is lots and lots of Beer and preferebly something already picked out in the garage to throw stuff at when you get frustrated. Trust me in the heat of the moment you will throw wrenches at things you wouldn't normally throw stuff at so be sure to pick out something of less or no value to you, if you're married trash her stuff first...

Number two, just relax and take your time if you take it step by step it's no big deal. Very good advice listed above and use the website it is a lifesaver, Good luck and welcome to the Forum and the wonderful world of SHO ownership...

I must agree with you 100%.

Patience is the key, if you get frustated STOP and come back when you are calm. :)
