95 ATX what tuner for firmer shifts?

I'm wanting to firm up the shifts with a good tuner, and is there any other mods to get into low 15's, looking for good driveability. SHOtimes states that the Hypertech chip causes too much advance underload and the eng, pings
up hills. LPM or tweecer with correct program? SHO has dynomax catback.

Well it depends man! A lot of the ATX guys have had a lot of luck with the tweecer, or you could going the cheap route and get an lmp...still works, and for 75 bucks shosource would tune it for you unlimited times....You'd just have to have a dyno runs... to get A/F ratio's! That would be the cheapest route, if you don't feel like spending a lot of money! But the Tweecer is the one that would let you do the most out of the transmission!

What do you recomend to get into the low 15's and be daily driven. I drive fairly easily, hitting the throttle WOT a few times to clean out the carbon on thr freeway.

Right now all I have "on" the car is a shoshop CAI, I have some other stuff waiting to go on the car! 69mm tb, and afew things for the suspension. I'd just go with bbb's y-pipe and a lmp! as it would be a pretty low cost, I'd hone the intake shosource does thing also.... The better you can get it to breath the better you will be!

I'd like to have a 3.3l with a built transmission with all the goodies, and bolt-on with cams.... And alittle bit of Nitrous just for fun!

I would like to put NOS 75 hp after I do my 60k. It's funny the orig. cdn owners manual
states that the service is due at 100k(165kms). IT would be nice to go faster than my
friends 94 mustang rag. It runs a best of 14.8, consistantly running 15.1 on radials (CAI, mac longtubes/pro chamber, 3.73 gears and UDP set.) lol

Tweecer! Lots of fun to tune and you get to learn in the process a little about tuning. I got my base tweecer for around $200. Close to what you pay for an lpm and getting it tuned.

what? thats preposterous. The tweecer does this very well.

a "shift kit" does far more than make shifts firmer. You cannot increase lubrication to a transmission with a TwEECer. They are great, but by firming up the shifts with nothing but a tuner (this is on any transmission) you are simply moving the failure point, not eliminating it. If you firm up shifts too much on a stock tranny, you will blow a piston or something up inside of it. A shift kit replaces all the parts that firmer shifting will place added stress on - thus, "kit".

But that's not to say you shouldn't use a tuner. Used within reason, a tuner can gain marked increase in firmness without deleterious effect. Just don't go crazy lol.

you do realize that the shift kit that you are talking about is just a couple springs and a drill bit right?

Shift kits are good, but i don't think trans go kits are real performance shift kits as they are shift improver kits. I agree no tuner or amount of tuning (increasing line p.s.i.) wiil ever equal to a good name brand converter and shift kit. I got a trans go kit installed on a rebuilt STS trans. It shifted hard and seemed to hold the gear it was in, during WOT

My trans. is good and shifts smooth, I just want to gain some performance and maintain
trans. Will install external performance cooler in spring. Any one know of a good cooler for ATX SHO's?

Other than BTU ratings, coolers are all pretty much coolers. Try to get one with the input and output on opposite sides as that's how the stock cooler is plumbed, but it isn't too hard to reroute it on those that have both on one side (most of them).

Hayden makes nice coolers, IIRC.
