I am one of the tuners that is involved with that project and would just like to respond.
First, SHODWN, about the concerns over which gear the car was pulled in. Normally I would agree, that most vehicles should be pulled in 4th (or the 1:1 ratio) and whenever possible, I do. On this one, however, in order to have impartial results (and the fact that neither of us has an AWD dyno) we took the car to a third party Mustang Dyno and allowed the dyno operator to strap the car down and perform the pulls. Our only involvement (at that point) was the installation of the tune. We had already done most of the R&D on the tune by that point. Yes, the car was pulled in third gear. It was also pulled in fourth, (forget 5th, 4th took long enough) but the difference in power was negligible. In fact, if anything, it probably would have shown a slightly better gain if pulled in fourth. The dyno operator suggested doing the remaining pulls in third. Since this was a Mustang Dyno, it was loading it properly, and we already verified that there was no power difference, we did not argue. I will see if I can find the sheets to illustrate what I mean and post them here.

You are correct, these cars tune like nothing else that most of the tuners out there are used to. That is why you only see a handful of tuners tuning them. They are speed density, and have computer controlled turbos similar to what Ford has been dealing with in Europe for some time. Direct injection is also new to the US, but it is nothing that a good tuner cannot learn (if they have not dealt with it already).
You are right, Ken is a good tuner. I am not trying to take anything away from his accomplishments or yours. I am simply here to do my own thing. Our tune is mainly focussed on driveability, not top end horsepower, but we tested it anyway. Needles to say, we were happy with the results. We could have gone further (and we probably will), but for right now it is safe. In fact the car has had 2200 miles since that tune was installed without any problems whatsoever (not counting all the testing that led to that file). I was hoping to compare it to some other dyno numbers, but unfortunately we have yet to see any. The car that we are testing on ran a 14.1 stock. Unfortunately, the track by him closed before we could get the after numbers. We will be getting some times soon though. In the meantime, keep up the good work. I like what you are doing with yours.

BTW, NiNeTy Fo SHO, yes the AFR is plenty safe.
