I have had 2 vehicles that were identical in year make and model both Ford F-150's one cut out around 93 mph, and the other appeared to never have a limiter and pinned the needle on the dash (maybe 115 or so I dunno it ended at 100). The original sho was rated at 143 so I really see no reason why a car 10 years later cannot reach a top speed of 10mph or so more regardless of it's weight difference. Not sayign I believe it 100% but I see a man who loves his car and is sharing some potentially exciting news.

i was extremely surprised how well it handled. It actually was a smooth ride at that speed even when i passed a state trooper. luckily he didn't try to catch me and pulled right back off to the side of the road. He had a good hiding spot though.

really? because i think he would have chased you and when you pulled over he would have came out with gun drawn :p

most of the time when you pass a cop with that kind of speed they don't even bother. I have done it twice in my turbo SHO. once in ohio and once here in buffalo. I was in the 150mph range both times I estimated.

BS story or not, here in the Mitten, state cops won't bother if you're movin faster than 130 due to the speeds necessary to catch up to you...however, to do this in daylight is just silly since there ain't a SHO on the road that can outrun a motorola or a ghetto bird.

Exactly. The call ahead at the speed of light beats pretty much any wheeled vehicle speed. Actually, any vehicle speed, no matter what type. Except maybe fantasy and science fiction ones.

I agree, you can out run a cop but not a radio. i have been nailed before with guns drawn on a road block...not fun. when i passed the cop, my exit was two miles ahead. i have had the car tuned and i really did reach those speeds. my buddy had his gps unit, not sure what brand or how accurate it actually is, but he says it accurate.

torrie and have two guys that work for me. all they do for a hobby is work on their cars. they both have 7 sec cars. i really dont know much about tuning aspect of a car,but everytime they do something, they say "wait til u drive the car now." honestly i want to put the car completely back to stock. you literally can not launch the car with out spinning the tires. Quarter throttle of a stop light, your spinning the tires, but high end acceleration is rediculous. Maybe its just the cold weather in michigan. lower temps=more hp and tq

We should quit humoring this guy, he's probably getting a pretty good chuckle out of us getting our ******* in a knot about his claims. :rainshit:

Guys, the explanation is simple. His tune disengaged the AWD!

You know, you don't need a tune to disengage the AWD. All you have to do is engage the parking brake just one click, so it's not really engaged, but the PCM thinks it is and the brake light comes on. I read this in another thread here and tried it in a 2010 Fusion Sport AWD and it worked! It was wet out and I did a nice FWD burnout from a light (after turning TC off first of course). I heard this applies to all AWD Ford cars.
