Took the 98 SHO to McDonald's the other night. While waiting at the light someone noticed it said V8 and decided to challenge me. I played the game but only to about 40 since McDonalds was shortly after the light.

I came to a complete stop and waited to turn into McDonalds. Traffic cleared and I gave it some gas, nothing... the revs just rose. I gave it some more gas and once the revs hit about 3k it began to move.

I pulled over and put the shifter down to 1, nothing, turned O/D on and off, nothing, tried 2, still nothing. I put it in park and restarted the car, no problems since. The car seemingly forgot to downshift for some reason or another.

Only 78k on this car and its not driven hard, except for when I took it on the track at the Memphis convention.

It's probably nothing and I'm not that worried, just wondering what might cause this behavior.

Just run over to Adam and Michelles house, bring a 12 pack, and rack leaves for them while his fixes it.
Hasn't it been said that driving a V8 slow all the time makes carbon builds up bad?
