17x8.5 Y2K cobra rims?

I bought a set of cobra rims with our lug pattern for my thunderbird but looks like I am going to get rid of it. I read that a 8.5 rim can fit on a 95 SHO but you will need a spacer. Anybody know what size spacer and where I can get it from? Also what size tire should I run? The ones on there now are 245/45/17. I did do a search for Y2K cobra rims but didnt get any help.

Your best bet is to put them on and check for clearance. I just traveled 2000 miles and tracked some 17X9 (I believe the 9" width is correct). Thought I was going to have to use spacers, bought some 5mm pieces for trial fit, figured I didn't need the spacer after all. However I did have to roll the rear fenders to get the rears from rubbing.

The First 5 wheels on these pages will "technically" fit a SHO, Altho the Offsets would look...uh...interesting.

I have a thunderbird that has the same bolt pattern. The Y2K's are no longer made but there are many other kinds. Go to www.tccoa.com and check out the rim and tire section. You will see that the guy from the custom wheel shop has had many wheels made for the MN12 and Mark VIII guys.


I was surprised that nobody has contacted him about being on this site. If there was interest im sure he could get some done with the correct backspace and all.

Im thinking the 18x10 Saleens on the bird!
