Anytime the lift is raised, the removable ramps must be removed and hung on their retaining hooks. I have been cleaning all the SHO paraphenalia...junk, out of the back room, so I raised up the lift so I could roll carts underneath to get to the new area. I turned around quickly and about knocked myself out. Not a pretty sight...

HAHA. I know exactly what that feels like. I was under a mazda one day replacing a converter. I was pushing back on the exhaust when the exhaust fell apart on me and a exhaust clap stabbed me right in the head. Had to get stitches for that one.

One of my old bosses has hit his head on a lift so many times he started having ceisures(SP?)

Me personally i cannot stand a 4 post drive on lift. I prefer a 2 post.

Ouch! I hope there aren't any lasting effects.

And I've bounced my head off those a couple of times, too. Fortunately I'm made like Homer Simpson (thick skull) and didn't get knocked out.

BTW, let me know the next time you're headed to Tucson or your CNC'ing offspring are up so I can get the mandolin to them.

Ouch! Hope there's no lasting effects. And just in case you're having memory lapses, I'm the guy that brought the Shelby GTH to your place. Rmember? Tom? Hello?

I think I remember seeing a bright flash on the freeway while following a Shelby GTH...

BTW, Tom was exaggerating. The swelling cancels out how much his face got caved in, so it's all good.

Damn, that sucks! I've had some close calls with those ramps. Fortunately for me, the front of the car is usually hangin' off the back of the rack when I'm there.

smashing transaxles with boost will do that. just one more way turbocharging has saved lives... lol.

hey nick, you still pretty busy or would you be interested in making some cash on the side? car needs a fuel pump and i would prefer it be done with the hole in the floor method. lemme know if you are interested. unfortunately i'll be in and out of town the next month or so and dont have the time to do it myself. i could get it to and from Tom's for you if he's cool with you doing it there and you are interested in doing it.

That's why when I had Cytech build my 4-post lift, I had them add 6" to the travel. Now at full lift, the bottom of the ramps is a few inches over 6', and I'm 6' (in heels... ;)), so I can happily walk under it without remembering to duck.

Admittedly, I do have some permanent divots from attempting to walk under the lift when it wasn't fully up. Old Fart's Disease, indeed.
