OK, since May 9th was a no-go, let's plan for another meet in June.

The date and the format are wide open. Go for a drive and eat at a restaurant, have a work day at my place, go harass the local Ford dealer about the 2010 SHO.

I have the weekends of the 6th and 13th open. Any takers?

June 20-21 we should be racing up in Mission if you happen to be in the area. It could be a way to bring any parts up you might want.

I'll be in Thailand from the 9th to the 24th.... June as a whole doesn't work for me, but I'll be up for a July meet.

I'm a big fan of racing at Mission, so, one of the activities this month is Mission. With Mike and Karen up it will make it all that more fun. Place your SHOSource orders now and Mike can ship it up here. Save you some duty and taxes...

Since Fathers Day is the Sunday ( and I are one ), I was planning on heading to the racetrack on Saturday the 20th.

Gene and I also recently received Jose's shifter bushing kits, so I'm planning on having a work weekend, and I'm aiming for Saturday the 6th. PM me for address info if you have not been to my place before.

Working all day on the 6th, and I'll be in Chiang Mai on the 20th, so I'll have to wait for my bushing install for another work party. ...unless we do it on the 7th. =)

That's what I dislike about living where I do. Something breaks it's me puddling around with it for months or I have to pay somebody.

I feel your pain... Do you have "issues" at the moment?

Any chance you'll be able to make it over this summer?

Issues! Have I ever.

Last fall I had to buy new rubber because of uneven wear. Took it in for an alignment and they simply could not align the left rear. Bent spindle.

I tried to think what could be the cause and then I recalled that when I was still in Gold River that my left rear strut froze on very cold days and it was like driving a brick. Every bump was a "BANG".

So I picked up a used spindle and when I tried to take the old one off, both bolts to the control arms broke right off. I guess they hadn't been off since new in 1995?

No problem, ordered up some new ones. Then taking out the ABS sensor, I broke that. So I ordered an old one from Mike at SHOSource. And as a fall back I also got two used Tokicos from him as well. Just in case my left rear is shot too.

And a set of Ingalls control arms to make things easier....

Then as I'm standing up after working on the spindle, I grabbed the Eibach to assist my ancient bones in standing up and it wobbled! So I take a look and sure enough, it's broken too! Last year I replaced the right rear Eibach, both have broken on me in 4 years.

So now I'm waiting for Mike and Kurt to ship the stuff my way. Mike got a warranty spring from Eibach for me. And I can't wait till June to avoid duty, etc so I'll pay a lot more than if I lived over there on the mainland.

Plus I won't be able to replace the spring or strut myself so I'll put everything back together and limp to my mechanic so he can do it. For a fee of course. Then over to the tire shop for an alignment.....

And then there's the noise I have in my clutch since Mike put my Quaife in. Not always there and never in reverse. But in first gear it sounds like a speedo cable is bent. But it isn't the speedo cable and the noise goes away after you are moving. Only as you release the clutch to drive away does it make the noise. Never shifting into second or third.

That one scares me as dropping the tranny is an expensive job. And I'm pretty sure the noise is hard to find anyway. But you can hear it externally and internally. Embarrassing noise it is at a stop light.

It's a good thing we have the 1991 TBird SuperCoupe we picked up for me to drive right now Or I'd be hooped.

As to getting over to the mailand, not sure. Have to fix Bull first. I hate travelling any distance in anything else. And my lovely company just reduced everybody's salary by 10%. So my disposable income is not very high right now. We shall see.....

Eeep! Almost sorry I asked! :nut:

That's wild about the Eibach springs failing. I guess that's what I have to look forward to.

Is it possible the funny noise is the throw-out bearing? I know I can hear mine when I have the clutch pedal depressed and I get a funny whirring noise just as the clutch is taking up. Doesn't sound expensive though, how about yours? Hopefully it doesn't get any worse and we can have a listen the next time you're over.

Speaking of which; I hear ya about a smaller hobby budget. Things are definitely slow for me and I am really pinching the pennies this year. I'm not even going to insure my car, just get temp. permits for the weekends I'll drive it. Looking forward to a better 2010 for sure.

I'm not sure how much a throwout bearing would cost to replace? Can it be done relatively easily? My clutch is a Spec Stage II put in during 2006 when I was at Mike's for my lump swap after my cats failed and cooked my original lump. And the noise only started after Mike installed the Quaife in 2007? Everything works fine it's just an embarassing noise.

Not worh an individual replacement, unless it is broken. But then it means pulling the tranny out again. *ugh*

You might shoot Mike a line and see what he has to say about your noise. As long as it does not get louder or change pitch, it's probably ok for now.

Sorry to hear the troubles with Bull. I only wish I could fly a helicopter and visit to help you fix him up. How do the mechanics treat Bull?
The winter's in your neck of the woods must take a toll on the suspension hardware.

Does the noise from the tranny sound like clutch chatter?

I am also in the same boat of disposable income. The roof on my house has just been replaced, washer/dryer died during Christmas, and the fridge decided to take a hike to never cool land. Had to sell off my '94 to ease my line of credit.

Mike has no solutions to my clutch noise.

I had a front e\bearing replaced and the Ford mechanic put the bracket for my PBRs on with one bolt in each hole, 12" and 13". So the pad wore unevenly. But I only noticed when my slicers would fit but I couldn't move....

My new mechanic is a gippo guy but he does good work.

June 6th is now officially a work day. I may also be doing rod bearings that weekend on my new "Driveway SHO".

My garage SHO is still waiting for parts from Mike and Kurt. Taking much longer than usual?

At least we have a spunky car to drive in Bull's absence. Our TBird Super Coupe (black with black leather Brent has called Raven) is an able back up.

But I really want Bull back on the road.
