Hey all, you all know the water outlet (or inlet?) that connects to the oil cooler with the short U hose, right?

Well, after an unfortunate incident during it's removal, mine now needs replacing. Any ideas on ways to replace that part, or am I going to be on the hunt for a new one? :frown:

Does it thread in? I'm trying to remember V6 from V8 here, but at least one of them just threads into the block next to the cooler.

If it does, I'm sure we've got eleventy billion of them at the shop. If you're not coming to the breakfast next Sat I can just drop one in the mail.

or...more appropriately, and after a couple of minutes...I'm not sure about the size, but you shouldn't have any trouble finding the right one. Use pipe dope.

Here's the best pic I could find on my hd.

i would suggest using a stel fitting, as its usualy best not to mix and match metals that contack each other.

a simple pipe thread to beaded hose end type fitting will do that job well, just find someplace that has the right tap for it. this may require asking around some shops in the area for one you can borrow if you want to save some cash.

It threads, but because I gorilla'd it to get it out, the hex and the pipe distorted and cracked.

Oops.

I'm pretty sure breakfast is out, as the SHO is in more than a few pieces, the carbs on my bike are still not clean enough for the bike to run more than a few seconds, and I owe the girl some us time.

93rev, I like that Stainless piece. You wouldn't happen to know the thread pitch and size in the block, would you? IIRC, the hose a 5/8".

It's 1/2" pipe to 5/8" hose barb, available at any decent plumbing supply.

I have a couple in the fitting drawer, want one? Shoot me your address and send me something for the postage. The stock fitting isn't full flow, the internal is bored about a 1/4", probably for a reason.
